I watched the analysis too, and it seems more plausible now that I know he's an actual performance artist (who goes to live events and does this sort of thing) who said in the interview with Vice that 'he didn't move because it would make for a good video' and he once pissed himself on camera doing this sitting and smiling thing because he forgot to go to the bathroom first.

I was looking up videos for a local festival that is held every summer. I wanted to see what it was like before I had to do it... The videos started normal, then it started to focus on all the guys butts (I live in Japan, for the festival we wear fundoshi) and I looked at their channel. It's a guy who travels the country to festivals where they wear fundoshi, sumo, and other more revealing traditional clothes for Japanese men.
