Is the Meister toy out?

8130519dd5e7_a400.jpg

Am I late to the party?

WTF?!

I want this crap, when I scrape up the funds. >:|

Quick stops at TrU just revealed the usual unwanted shelf warming crap.

I saw Grimlock at Target, but dude - Grimlock, car?! THIS DOES NOT COMPUTE! BOOP! BOOP! BOOP! MALFUNCTION!

I also saw Ravage - again, WTF?! I mean he wasn't even a pun automobile, like y'know - a Jaguar or something. :p

Yellow Jeep

Blue Subaru Rally car

Some red thing, Dodge Viper?

I'd love to buy a couple of these things, but my willy and wallet belong to Meister.

The meister (or Jazz) one is very hard to find now. Some Toys R US's are having a two pack Alternator sale for 20 bucks a pack. Most of them come with Smokescreen and one other one. The point of the Alternators line was to have realistic licensed cars so thats why Grimlock is a mustang and not a dinosaur. The latest prototype one is a Scion and looks to be Ironhide.

It damn well better be the TC. Althought I'm sure they favor the XB they can hide two tranformers in that one.

Yes, and my point is - if you want realistic looking cars, make a more sensible character choice!

It just reeks of stupid to me. Stupid and raping over zealous fans.

It's like a peanut butter cup, only it sucks. Grimlock + Car = Not Delicious

Weren't there six billion transformers that turned into cars? Why not a Cliffjumper Alternator?!

Well, thanks anyhow. It's out there and I'll find it. Kee kee kee. . .

Oh yea, I understand how it doesn't make sense with past incarnations. It's just more of banking on the famous name like you said. There has been speculation also that they haven't done a bumblebee because they are still trying to work a deal with volkswagen. So of course there would be a Cliffjumper repaint for that. Then again i'm not sure if they still have a trademark on the name bumblebee because they haven't used it in a longtime in any of their new lines. On a couple of their reissues they had to add the word Autobot to the name of the character to avoid trademark issues. This is also the reason for the above Jazz/Meister question.

Wait - I'm pretty sure Cliffjumper was like a super deformed Dodge Charger or Corvette looking thing. He certainly wasn't a Volkswagon.

Shit - maybe my memory is just that bad; but there was this little red car the same size as Bumblebee, but not a Volkswagon. I believe he had a grey head with black visor eyes.

Damn, some of these new transformers are like fat chicks with really gorgeous faces. I look at the head and I go - DAMN! Then I click on the link and see the body. . . :(

Screw that. The Alternators stomp all these asses.

Who's the sweet fucking blue & white Mustang? Sexplosion!

Ah hell - they turned Shockwave into a car too? >:|

Edit: Ah apparently it was Windcharger, and it looks like he got an Alternators update. ROX!

Apparently Meister was his Japanese name, so they went with that for whatever reason.

Hasbro lost the trademark to "Jazz."

Anyway, yeah, you're way late to the party for Meister. At this point, you're going to have to rely on dumb luck to get it, even for the Japanese version.

IIRC the name "Jazz" is now the name of a car from a competitor in Europe, so that was another factor in the decision.

eBay scalping fuckwads! >:|

I hope they all get cancer of the prick and die a slow painful death.

I dunno, maybe I can luck out like I did that one time I got super duper Optimus Prime for $17; and find one with a damaged box which instantly repells dorks and fucking scalpers because it's not ZOMG! mint.

THE BOX GETS IN THE WAY OF PLAYING WITH IT. >:|

Why do toy companies do this shit?

This reminds me of the newer He-Man toys which were, uh - Skeletor and He-Man from what I could tell any time I looked at the god damned shelves. OH WE'RE GOING TO LIMIT THE RELEAS^H^H^HKILL OUR LINE INSTANTLY! Douchebags.

The japanese ones were made of metal(I think). They were going for about 100 a piece

Where have u been shopping for imports??? Each japanes binaltech is all die-cast metal with rubber wheels. Some of the interiors are plastic, but I have been able to get all of mine for around $53 from bigbadtoystore.com or ncsx.com

The US versions, called Alternators, are all plastic with no metal (US laws, lead paint, blah blah blah), and they are like $20 a pop.

Wow, thanks for clearing things up. *Checks out ncsx right now*

The blue and white Mustang is Wheeljack.

And my personal favorite is the Blue Tracks Corvette.

Prime's not an alternator/binaltech.

I still say for the live action movie, Soundwave should be a PSP, and the tapes would become UMDs.

OK, understandable; but WHY IS HE NOT A PORSCHE 911 AS THE LORD INTENDED?!?! :D

U.S. laws have nothing to do with it. Plastic is cheaper to manufacture, much easier to ship, and allows Hasbro to price the things at ~$20 each. Both versions look good, it's just a matter of how much you want to invest in them.

Hasbro and Takara's intentions for the line are for scaled models of actual cars, and that means getting permission from the manufacturers. As of now, Porsche doesn't want to be a part of it.

There are plenty of Jazz's around her ein NZ, but then the retail price here is $50 -$60 (US $35 -$40). I love Jazz - the car is really cool, and the robot mode is also plenty neat.

There's a Binaltech book out somewhere with heaps of awesoem concept sketiches - including one of Bumblebee as a 98 VW beetle. Cool....

Slowly, but surely - bjorkski is turning into Comic Book guy from the Simpsons. :lol

OOH! OOH! OOH!

Hmmm. . . I have a pal in New Zealand.

So far it looks like soundwave is going to be a helicopter.

Exactly; and it lets you stay away from the "heavy metal limb weakens plastic joint" phenomenon if you're still searching for a silver lining.

Rhetorical question. :lol ;)

I read in some TF forums that the European car manufacturers didn't want their cars to be associated with toys that fight each other, and hence the Alternators are always going to be either a Japanese or American car. Hence, no VW or Porsche.

NOOOOO!

You'll love Ironhide as a Scion xB TtoB.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

<Star Wars Nerd> STOP PEEING ON MY CHILDHOOD! WAH WAH WAH! </Star Wars Nerd>

There have only been a few model changes I've approved of.

Megatron as a tank was pretty god damn bad ass. A damn sight better than the homoerotic trigger pulling barrel stroking weirdness of the original Megatron.

I also liked most of the Robots in Disguise designs. Even Fire Truck Prime. Come on man - he's a good guy. That's pretty damned symbolic. :D

Is there a website with info on this models?

YOU FAIL AT FANDOM! :p
