To be honest with you, you can't really go wrong with either.

However, may I direct you to avsforum.com, you can probably find a dedicated thread for each of those two models, filled with user-reports, reviews, and feedback. I usually read up on products over there before making a purchase.

blacks and response time should be better on the plasma. However, I've heard nothing but good things about Panny plasmas and Sammy LCD's.

I personally like the look of plasmas better than LCD's, but it's personal preference.

But yes, AVS to see what sort of specific issues might exist with the two TV's.

Great suggestion. I just want to add one thing for the OP.

Don't get so easily discouraged while reading avsforum, some of the people there are the pickiest sob's in the world where there's not a single device anywhere in the world that'd please them. No TV is perfect, keep that in mind when reading about what impacts each set and make a decision accordingly, but really a lot of the stuff you'll see harped upon is really, really minor.

My Kuro is only missing a port that would let me make love to it. Otherwise it's perfect :D

I have a Panny 46in pz85u (last year's G10) and absolutely love it. I game on it (pc racing sims and GT5P) for hours at a time and only have very minor retention. Retention is not burn in. It has a very good picture and was a great value.

I am a member at AVSForum and they are very anal about everything. I read a 100+ pg thread on my TV before I got it and you will learn a lot. Like a poster above said, don't get discouraged. There are problems with everything on AVSForum.

I set up two of the Samsung LN46B8750s for a friends parent's house. I have to say the sets look amazing and I've since been to that house a few times and hear nothing but good things about the TVs from the family. They use one for gaming, Xbox 360 and PS3 and the other is downstairs and used mostly for watching HDTV and a few movies. Great performance when gaming from what I can see as well (Check the AVS forums for reports of lag though since I haven't had too much time playing on the set).

As far as the Panasonic I can't comment as I've never looked at the set in person. Best of luck in your purchase I'm sure you'll love whatever you end up with!
