"Health care" bill withdrawn due to lack of votes

Real talk, someone explain to me how blaming Democrats is supportable in any sense. Like, what could he say to even defend that statement?
It's an emotional appeal, not a factual one. You're pissed and disoriented; his base eats that shit up like chocolate pudding. Classic troll maneuver.

"Next, I will work with Congress to introduce the following broader legislative measures and fight for their passage within the first 100 days of my administration:

...

5. Repeal and Replace Obamacare Act...
"

-Donald Trump, Contract with America

"I've been in office what 64 days now. I never said Repeal and Replace is something that I wanted done right away"

-Donald Trump

Funny thing about Trump blaming dems is if he doesn't start coming after FC people and soon not only will he have completely lost the game of chicken against them but also failed to follow through on any of the threats he's been dishing out the past week

Nobody is ever going to be intimidated by this guy anymore

i expect more private threats to the FC but then that's a move for someone with tact, so what do i know

bleh

"I think this was a good bill and it will be even better next time, and it won't be that long before it is here."

here's hoping like with most things he is wrong.

hahaha he used this shit logic on his failed travel bans & will likely echo it on the next failure

Laugh all you want at "imploding then exploding," but what do you think stars have to deal with?

ayyyyy

To sane people paying attention they will know dems have nothing to do with this but this new public that voted in Trump and his lies are a different matter, i'm worried they will believe this shit.

lemme spoil this for you based on recent polls: they will
what matters are the moderates/independents/etc who are far less likely

Trump is one of the worst speakers I've ever listened to. How is he President again? And he also said he never said Repeal and Replace, and thats a lie. He said at many rallies he would Repeal & Replace every single word of Obamacare day 1.

It will be at least a year, when the next budget comes up, and Trump will have even less political capitol by then

unless they want to pass bipartisan fixes of course (lol)

I hope so. I would rather not have one of my friends die due to tax cuts to the rich pretending to be a healthcare bill.

LOL at the word salad falling out of Trump's shouthole! "I really think it'll be a BETTER BILL, 'cause it's gonna come from the Democrats, they're good people, we'll have BIPARTISAN, and it's gonna be the ULTIMATE."

"What are the specifics you'd want to see in a new bill?"

"WELL I DON'T WANNA TALK SPECIFICS..."

This is pathetic. All these years trying to repeal ACA and they had nothing to replace it with. How do these people get voted into office is beyond me.

Breitbart is in full swing now, trying to blame this all on Paul Ryan, calling it "failed Ryancare", calling for his resignation, and absolving Trump of all responsibility for it, even though Trump has worked 18 hour days all week desperately trying to convince Congress of how awesome it was.

Did he really use the word "ultimate"?

For the most part, it's been "Repeal", not "Repeal and replace". This "Oh, hey, maybe we should have a replacement rather than going back to the way things were" has to do with the ACA's popularity (as seen when Obama got out of office, going up something like 15 points).

With more providers backing out of ACA and raising premiums, the ACA will explode on its own. Not sure why he is working so hard to shut it down. Let it die on its own.

Man... just looking at the most used gifs right now on giphy's front page is hilarious. Screw Trump, screw Ryan, screw every "willing to murder the poor" piece of garbage that would have voted yes on this bill. Luckily, my shitty congressman who would have voted for the bill only won by 1% last year; his ass is toast.

that has been their official stance since "The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president." in 2009

that was bitch mcconnel wasn't it? a historic L right there

David Gergen nailed it. Trump sounded delusional.

perpetually

Republican voters can now keep their health care and blame Democrats at the same time. It makes no sense but who cares.

It just shows how dumb they are that they keep voting Republican.

we're talking about states that take disproportionately from social systems & decry said systems as "socialist" etc....that's kinda par for the course right there

all that + midterms, good times

This press is so bad. Asking questions at the Trump surrender ceremony. Trump is like this was a "good" bill. More mundane generalities throughout all his speech. No one ever asks him the simple question. What is "good" about it? And then present the facts from whatever BS he spills of 24 million people getting kicked off as "good."

Press is horrible. News in mundane terms at 11.

Ha! I was just thinking about this earlier today. Trump ends up looking weak as hell before he tries to get his budget through. I really hope this win emboldens people to keep at it. This bill was straight up garbage but going to town halls and calling people in congress definitely helped.

Funny thing, you only hear about these problems in states that declined the Medicaid expansion. Want to guess why?
