"Health care" bill withdrawn due to lack of votes

Called it. He's been leading up to this with slight tells for awhile now, like at his address calling out left wing and then calling for both parties to work on healthcare. He was looking for fodder to shift blame when things went down. To sane people paying attention they will know dems have nothing to do with this but this new public that voted in Trump and his lies are a different matter, i'm worried they will believe this shit.

The election is over. His base can't save him now. He wins nothing by simply pandering to them with lies, he actually has to work now, and all the spin in the world isn't going to prevent him from taking L after L just like he did today.

The fact that he tried to assert that the bill needed Democrats to pass it when they have a majority and ACA was passed with NO Republican support is just insane to me.

On a related note. So how is anything gonna get done in Congress? Is it even possible to get the freedom carcus and moderates to compromise on something?

Breitbart is in full swing now, trying to blame this all on Paul Ryan, calling it "failed Ryancare", calling for his resignation, and absolving Trump of all responsibility for it, even though Trump has worked 18 hour days all week desperately trying to convince Congress of how awesome it was.

This is great , the more they fight amongst each other, the less they will actually do.

With more providers backing out of ACA and raising premiums, the ACA will explode on its own. Not sure why he is working so hard to shut it down. Let it die on its own.
Most markets have already stabilized. ACA can continue on forever with nobody touching it. That doesn't mean there isn't problems that need to be fixed.

I agree. The electoral bloodbath with be a fitting tribute before the impeachment hearings proceed.

He said he never said he'd repeal and replace it within 60 days, and he has plenty of time to repeal it. The next version will be in its final ultimate form.

sure he didn't

"Next, I will work with Congress to introduce the following broader legislative measures and fight for their passage within the first 100 days of my administration:

...

5. Repeal and Replace Obamacare Act...
"

-Donald Trump, Contract with America

"I've been in office what 64 days now. I never said Repeal and Replace is something that I wanted done right away"

-Donald Trump

I think Pelosi and Schumer are quite happy to take the blame for the GOP's only real shot at repealing Obamacare failing in every possible way.

From Costas interview.

He could've at least acknowledged that he gives a shit. Just saying "Let Obamacare explode and then maybe we'll do something" is almost comically callous for the people who will be affected as more and more states (and congressional funding, lest we forget) let the law shrivel.

Blaming the Democrats is just exhaustingly predictable at this point.

Won't the next bill/plan be potentially even worse than this one?

The have a problem with the Freedom Caucus, which want to tear it all down, and moderate Republicans with constituents who want to maintain the ACAs current level of coverage. Two opposing forces within their own party. Its hilarious to see the GOP try to deal with this

Despite Trump saying "I won't say anything bad about anyone in the Republican party" just a while ago, you know that part about loyalty means a lot of people are probably about to be called out. He had to blame Dems for now to save face, but I would guess that it is coming.

If someone drops the hammer on Nunes before the end of the day, it will be a cherry on top of the fecal cake that Trump has eaten all fucking week.

Repealing Obamacare was the thing he ran on the hardest, maybe 2nd only to the Wall. This is a massive loss for Trump and it's eating at him. He's a loser.

Not sure when all of this "winning" starts. All Trump & company have done is take major L after L.

And that is not even considering the ongoing investigations.

The answer is pretty obvious -- with democratic votes, which are easy to get if you go with the moderates (unlike how Republicans handled things under Obama, mind you)

but the house won't do it because they're chickenshit and the majority of the majority hastert rule

I actually do kind of enjoy that he has no choice but to blame dems because to blame the Freedom Caucus is basically just going after his base.

Not to mention people who could protect you in an FBI investigation. Maybe he's starting to realize he needs the Republicans probably more than they need him.

Man oh man that dudes the lyingest person I've ever seen lmao

Total fucking liar.

It's completely insane how anything he says that is a lie is a total non-issue to anyone who supports him. The answer is always some sort of 'that's not quite what he meant' type of response. This is his word in writing being the complete opposite of what he's said today.
