Height seriously needs to be a factor on boarding flights.

OP made a thread to express a grievance of being extremely tall and a some posters act as if he cannot complain because apparently only us short dudes can suffer.

Get a grip short bros. Different people have different challenges. I would rather be ignored by superficial women in dating apps than living in a world in which I literally cannot fit.
You must be talking about me right? What I was highlighting is that despite the challenges of being tall it's still very much a blessing in all aspects of life. Shorter and average males on the other hand have it much tougher and why should they, they didn't choose to be that way. Height is determined first and foremost by genetics, a short person doesn't choose their parents or which gene pool to inhabit. I'm not talking from personal experience of being refused by multiple women because I've never been into the whole dating scene, but like you said there are tonnes of comments on the web about that stuff and I do feel a little bad for them. OP is probably frustrated but deep down laughs at the manlets and is grateful he isn't one of them :messenger_grinning_smiling:.

I’m 6’4 with a 34” leg (and a UK 12 wide or 13 shoe, +1 to convert to US), and I feel like I just about get by as somewhat normal. I already feel like the world isn’t quite made for me, but I can still get enough clothes/footwear (that gets easier as companies expand their ranges over time) and I can still fit into most vehicles. Any taller is going into more extreme problems.

Fuck planes though. Long haul is actually better as they give you more leg room, but if it’s a shorter flight? Best believe I’m having the aisle seat so I can stick a leg out. I’ve paid for the extra leg room seat before, and it’s well worth it. Trains are the same for leg room, but at least there’s usually empty seats or a standing option.

I'm 6'1 so I guess I'm "tall" by some people's standards, I'll admit airline seats aren't the best but they're not horrific for me. I think a lot of people don't bother to stand up and stretch on longer flights out of some social anxiety but I'll just get up and stand for 5 minutes in the aisle when things aren't busy if I feel a bit sore or cramped.

I sort of balance out the fact of being (mildy) uncomfortable for a few hours with the fact that I'm getting wherever I'm going in just a few hours. Glass half full yo.

6'1" is short in netherlands tall is 6'3"anything below that is manlet city below 5'9" is giga manlet city

I sometimes wish I was taller but this thread made me appreciate my 5'11 manlet king height. I'm not a complete manlet but still fit everywhere. I can comfortably lie that I'm 6'0 too. Kinda the best of both worlds. Manlet kings stay winning.

(I still die a bit inside every time I see a girl who's taller than me... and she's wearing sneakers, fuck me)

Best thing about being short is when you get to fuck a tall woman, it's amazing. Good luck tall guys finding a woman taller than you to find out what I'm talking about.

Yes, something must be done to end this discrimination of tall people. Fortunately for me, the last time I was on an airplane I was 14 and had not grown to my full height. We needs flights designated for tall people only (181 cm+ men and 175 cm+ women) with extra leg space, they can advertise it as a mingling thing like they do for cruises.
Just kidding. But not really. :messenger_sunglasses:
Welp, there is that sexual attraction part to it.
Tall women gain nothing, they actually lose some.
You shut your whore mouth. Lengthy women are the best! :messenger_pouting:
The question is, though, if it is possible to accommodate for extra-tall people, who should pay for it?

In case of people with disabilities entire society is largely OK to pay for it.
I don't think such readiness is there or will ever be there in case of tall people, men in particular.
If fossil records are to be believed then people are getting taller on average the world over. They will have to accommodate us eventually so you may as well start now so that I can take advantage of it! :messenger_sunglasses:

Not only you, which is why I didn't quote you. My frustration comes form the fact that the topic wasn't comparing the struggles of being tall vs short, but it got hijacked. We could have had an intelligent discussion about airline companies and how their profit greed has driven them to create a sub optimal service that cannot be challenged due to their cartel like monopoly on international transportation, but it instead devolved into another tall vs short cope thread, and there are plenty of those of GAF.

Join the NBA or some other professional basketball league. Is there anything else to being good at basketball except being tall? Nope. There you go.

I mean, the dude I came cross country to see is 5'4". I don't make fun of short people at all. I'm fact I say I envy them when I fly. I really do. I also agree your height shouldn't affect your self worth or make you worthy or unworthy in the eyes of others. People can't control this shit. All I'm trying to get across is that maybe don't give the exit rows to people that will be just as comfortable in any seat on the plane and not to the tallest on the plane first.

When your with a short girl you better pull the pillow down a foot or so or you'll be smashing your face into the headboard while your smashing her. Protip.

Planes...well that's why I actually pay for at least Economy + and why I find it's crime againts humanity, that every single fucking airline does not have A380s and last year they stopped making them. I basically flight Emirates for this reason.

Also try to be in the hospital. I was told that the beds are 2m (which is a load of shit), I am 191cm and that fucking pain having legs against the bed (how is that shit called) ending barrier is really painful as fuck.

Makes me feel better, because I have 52EU (13-14US, based on brand- I wear mainly Jordans for the comfort™) shoe and that shit sucks, it's horrible and on the top of that it looks cartoonishly large. I am not that tall.

Especially with these companies trying to cram every last person into smaller and smaller seats. There's only so bloody small you can go, damnit. If you're going to make normal seats sit less than 6' people then exit rows should go to people that can't have their knees break while sitting for 4 hours. my knees are still hurting and it's only first leg of the trip. Still 4 hours to go...

I read about it that some long distance flights are going back to more space and less people but you get stuff like small gym areas on the plane to move your body and stuff.

Not just first class but in general for second class as well.

The airlines didn't push this, we the consumers did. We pushed for cheaper and cheaper flights, and the whole airline business changed, removing all the perks, reducing leg room etc. If you want more comfort or more leg room, the options are there but it will cost you. If you want a meal or a drink it'll cost you, if you even have the option. Need two suitcases - it'll cost you.

Truth, my favorite part of being short.
I understand the frustration and I wasn’t intending on detailing the thread, but it’s always a slippery slope when it comes to this discussion. Some will say OP was humble bragging whereas others will make light of the situation and then we have another tall vs short thread. Besides, I rarely fly so I don’t have a dog in the race.
You need to stay off that sherm Krappadizzle. You’re starting to turn green and float.

I absolutely agree with everything said, but it’s one of those necessary evils that you have to deal with in life. Do the needs of many (average height people) proceed that of the giants? That is the million dollar question.

I all honesty I have been upgraded to first class multiple times on flights by the pilot or the flight crew walking through the cabin.

Yup anyone over 6ft with long legs and broad shoulders is seriously fucked on domestic flights. Can’t even lean your head back. If you are lucky you get a window seat and can lay your heads against a bulkhead while contorting your shoulders to fit in your tiny area.

One of the reason why i absolute despise traveling in an airplane if i'm not in first class.

Even worse when the cunt in the next seat use the button to recline the damn thing on my already fucked up knees...

Don't use cheap airlines then.
It’s not much better, even the emergency aisle trick is shit now. I find myself paying for upgrades on United that I didn’t before. If I don’t get a window seat on the row before first class or convince myself to pay the extra hundred for a class upgrade I know I’m in for a miserable time!

6 foot 1 here. Get the aisle seat and get your leg creep on.

I aint even tall at 5'10" but I go for the isle so I can stretch my legs. Also, I dont have to crawl over or worry about waking up sleeping people if I gotta piss.
