That was my point, Karen. Also plenty of people were honest about it. Copers acting like the only argument was about countries without PSN when it wasn't even the majority of what people complained about.

Do you have an EA, Ubisoft and Epic Games account?Who are you to say what is a legitimate concern for PC gamers?. Just because you're used to accepting every dodgy thing thrown at you, it doesnt mean PC gamers are just going to bend over too.
It most likely has to do with the countries that would've been cut off, instead of the whining itself.
The fact those have been removed from sale still tells me they're going to go with the benefits approach down the line unless they make it available again soon. It'll be sad if all the whiners in the supported countries did was use it as a crotch for them to not make an account and keep their status quo but ended up making it worse for the people who they claimed to be concerned about.
Yep. Dont use Epic except get the free games to cost them money and be a useless customer for them.Do you have an EA, Ubisoft and Epic Games account?
Crazy.SDF still spamming. It's hard to understand what they are saying with their heads so far up Sony ass though.
If you gave people the option to not create an account at launch, and later take that option away, that's changing the deal for most people. They did launch with the requirement and Arrowhead running their own backend did the right thing of allowing you to skip temporarily. They didn't change the deal after people bought it. It was stated at the point of sale and on boot the game. People just didn't want to create an account. It is what it is.
Folks in other countries have been screwed by fake empathy by those who just wanted their way in other countries.Who cares about empathy for folks from other countries.
It was always a requirement it was never stated to be optional. They did the right thing of allowing you to skip but still stating it's required so that people can play the game during the network strain.Wasn’t the main issue with all of this was Sony requiring the login after the game had already been launched for months and was stated to originally be optional, and not mandatory?
We aren't upset over it.
We're amazed how upset PC gamers were.
The only legitimate concerns were from those in unsupported countries.
Surprising turn of events…
WTF? To make a PSN profile in UK, Sony wants as much info as being at the airport? lolWhat about those from UK having to deal with registering PSN that require to submit photo and IDs to Sony?
First I've heard about that. What about those from UK having to deal with registering PSN that require to submit photo and IDs to Sony?
Sony supporters sore PC gamers can avoid getting spammed endless Playstation promotions in their inbox.Laughing so hard at all the GAFers who've been sucking Sonys dick hard the past couple days somehow spinning this as not being a big deal and saying PC gamers are crybabies whos complains are not going to lead anywhere

They forgot to say “for now”… The policy will still go forward, but first they need to iron it down. Prolly, once the launcher is ready or the linking has obvious advantages, the PSN account will come back, as optional or not.
The deal hadn't changed though man. If I download Windows 8 for free from the installation site and from the very beginning it states "activation is required" can I say "you changed the deal" once my 30 days without activation is up?If you gave people the option to not create an account at launch, and later take that option away, that's changing the deal for most people.
Weak Sony
Pcmr bootlickers
Now about that negative reviews. How about changing that lol

The deal was always you need to register for a free PSN account to play this game. Stated at point of sale and stated on bootup. The fact that people played skipping doesn't mean the deal was changed. People just didn't want to create an account and that's fine but the deal did not change.
Photo or ID. It's just age verification in the UK from government guidelines. The photo or ID is deleted once your age is verified. It's like showing your face or your ID at a cash register when you're buying alcohol or cigarettes to prove you're an adult. What about those from UK having to deal with registering PSN that require to submit photo and IDs to Sony?
And does MS ban someone if they try to run Win 8 because a mandatory login account isn't even available in that country? The deal hadn't changed though man. No but that's a different issue. I'm just saying a "deal" hasn't changed when something stated from the beginning happens at a later date. And does MS ban someone if they try to run Win 8 because a mandatory login account isn't even available in that country?
Sure it changed. No but that's a different issue. I'm just saying a "deal" hasn't changed when something stated from the beginning happens at a later date.
And you expect them to trust the government with their private info?Photo or ID. It's just age verification in the UK from government guidelines. The photo or ID is deleted once your age is verified. It's happened repeatedly and it's why you ignore the morons who defend garbage decisions like this or try to persuade you not to fight back. Xbox One walked back their bs, Fortnite Crossplay was another big one, Star Wars Battlefront, this now...I'm sure there's more.Learn from this.
Always complain when these corporations try to pull their bullshit.
Don't let yourselves be silenced by the bootlickers who say it's no big deal.
Money should be the only thing (or substantially all) that rules when it comes to a company’s behavior. They gave in to the tantrum throwers. I guess at the end of the day money still rules. Wonder what will happen with Ghost of Tsushima now.
I'm surprised more people don't see it. They choose their words carefully. All that tweet really says is that the update planned for May 6th is cancelled. They didn't outright say that account linking is scrapped completely. They forgot to say “for now”… The policy will still go forward, but first they need to iron it down. Idk.. Its their most successful GaaS title thus far and a massive hit on PC. Surely the best selling PS title on there, yet. It would be stupid if they didn't back down.I'm actually surprised they didn't double down
Yep. Sony basically FAFOX Axis = Sony benefits from linking accounts
Y Axis = Shit show from customer reaction
The two lines on the graph obviously crossed down at Sony HQ sometime in the early hours.
Yes, at the end of the day money is what matters, and Sony decided potential loss of revenue is more important than potential profit of harvesting user data. They gave in to the tantrum throwers. I guess at the end of the day money still rules. Wonder what will happen with Ghost of Tsushima now.
Where did I blame anyone for anything?Sure it changed.
They wanted all PC gamers to do a linked PSN account. But a ton of countries dont even have local PSN access. So how are they going to do it? By picking a nearby country. And Sony banned some gamers for doing that.
So how are gamers to blame?
Sounds like 177 countries need…Excluding 177 countries from cosmetics?! The review bombers will send another payload.
It's a UK government GDPR mandate so, yes.Are you absolutely certain about that?

I don't know who was surprised by this turn of events, but I 100% expected it. Especially after Valve started offering refunds. Honestly, they can still implement the login. They just shouldn't mandate it. Offer some freebie for those who login.
Now how will they pad their userbase numbers like Xbox?
The government doesn't store the info anywhere though. Neither does the company. It's uploaded, some AI verifies age, then it's deleted. The company isn't even allowed to store the data because of GDPR. Not sure why you think it will end up stored somewhere by the government, outside of some tinfoil hat stuff that is.And you expect them to trust the government with their private info?
