Helldivers 2 |OT| Another bug infested game

:messenger_tears_of_joy:

I have to vent… how the fuck does this game still not have loadouts? What could possibly be so difficult about this?

just a guess, but I'm thinking this isn't some oversight or tech issue but rather the dev's design choice. don't get me wrong, I would love a loadout function also but sometimes just have to deal with it.

Today my games are just freezing on PS5 dropping to 0fps for like 5 seconds periodically dropping connection on Acamar IV(city maps ran fine though from the few missions I did on them) . Bad enough my PS5 wants to explode on drop in. I got tired of it. Closed application. AH going on vacation all while leaving this game in this state is crazy work. I think they've done this back to back years.

The other day on Reddit someone said they have made the visuals worse than before, basically pulling a Ready or Not. As in making the game look all foggy, washed out. Is this true?

not that I had noticed the last couple days I played. maybe it's the planet they were on?

and I kinda want this, not gonna lie.

Finally underground! New enemies. Also another warbond.

oh the Dragon Roach looks terrible in the best way! and are we getting Hive Lord too!? underground missions should be interesting since you can't call down anything from orbit. and the oilrig truck mission also looks cool too. and the other new warbond also has some very interesting weapons. can't wait to dive in!

With the underground sections they mentioned gaps in the ceiling so we can call in stuff or revive 🙂

Quick impressions: After 1 round of using the MA5C against bots and bugs, it seems decent. Dislike the ammo capacity. Feels like it's holding it back.

SMG against bugs, idunno. Wasn't impressed but liked the sound the gun makes when firing.

Looks like Sony is about to have a rude awakening on the results, after this decision to port a popular PS exclusive to other consoles especially to xbox series that already lost console wars and prefers gamepass.

Good thing losing the console war means MS opens their eco system so PS bros can help fund gamepass for the Xbox bros, while Sony ports a stagnant live service game for pennies so Xbox bros can help push HD2 numbers not seen since launch and Sony gets extra monies for... nothing.

Quite the rude awakening indeed. LMAO.

I debated for the better part of the last month on whether or not I was going to get this, mainly because I have no friends who would play so I'd be at the mercy of randoms most of the time. But damnit, I've been wanting to play this since it launched on PlayStation, but never bought it because I wasn't going to resub to PS+ for one game. So I took the plunge and preordered it a day before launch.

Spent a good chunk of today playing. Since I know next to nothing about the game outside of the memes that have spawned from it, I spent the first couple hours in the lower difficulty tiers playing solo just to get my bearings as to what the various objective types, map designs, and faction types are like, how to best use stratagems, et cetera. Finally felt competent enough to start joining random matchmade groups and it's been fairly decent so far.

I don't know if it's because I keep getting matchmade with other Xbox players who don't know much about the game but I've noticed most of the groups I end up getting never explore, they speed run the main objective then run to extraction. I think I got more samples from points of interest goofing off solo than I have from the matchmade groups I played with today, combined. Not a single group I had today finished any bonus objectives. I hope this is just a learning curve for my fellow Xbox noobs and it gets better with time.

Helldivers 2 is currently the #1 selling game on Steam. Absolutely wild the legs on the game
They can make mash ups with infinite other games and movies and their imagination is the only limit on how to expand the game.

The game is prone to being built upon.

Stagnant live service game?

You mean one of the biggest live service games in the last 5 years? or the entire generation for that matter.

Started this. First few missions are too easy.

Hopefully will be able to unlock some higher level ones quickly.
It doesn't take long to get through the first few difficulties, expert is where it really starts to pick up in my opinion. After that you really need to find the strategems that synergise across a full team I find.

Indeed the first levels are easy. Then around level 5/6 you'll the see the real deal with weapons and stratagems you bring being important.
I like staying on lvl 6/7 usually. Above it's a bit too chaotic for me.

You just need to complete an operation (set of mission) to unlock the next difficulty level. It's pretty quick.

The group I play with typically play Expert or Suicide Mission which is I believe the best balance since everything above that is just fucking crazy. Suicide Mission demands some stealth I think and really makes you synergise with the team, otherwise you'll fail.

I don't know if it's because I keep getting matchmade with other Xbox players who don't know much about the game but

There is a setting if you allow cross play. Make sure it is enabled.
I think this was bugged in the beginning of Playstation, but works fine now

I've noticed most of the groups I end up getting never explore
In the beginning I was happy that I somewhat survived at all and have a successful mission... With time I started to know more about the game and to explore and do side quests...

I agree Sony definitely he is weakening their brand by releasing games to their competitors platform but in this case it's a dying platform whoms uesr base doesn't buy games lol.

I haven't heard much of anything about this port on Xbox, it's mainly been the Gears of War reloaded port for PS5 that's being talked about.

Indeed the group you play with impact a lot the difficulty.
I did some solo high level stealth mission.
But I usually play with 2 friends and one of them is not really for stealth and preferer run to objectives, complete them and then run again. Sometimes there is some conflict xD I try a stealthy approach but he's already throwing some Eagle strikes.
He's more into "let's do quickly the objective before ending up into never ending fights" and constantly running from objectives and site of interest and not shooting if not necessary. Which is not a bad idea but sometimes it's good to look behind or wait your teammates before drawing an army by running around letting your teammate completely swarmed.

We already did some level 8/9 missions but it's usually not as smooth as 6/7 for us.

A dying platform that just made record profits you guys are funny …..

This is one thing a rarely see playing with randoms, everybody is all over the place. Being together (not stuck) on the same screen was great in helldivers 1, the team all shared the same visual information and covered each other whilst moving to and then completing objectives.

Most missions in Helldivers 2 is usually me doing objectives alone while my team mates are gathering scrap.

Sometimes it's a 4 man death ball who all do objectives together 😁 .... then spend 25 mins gathering scrap.

Dont forget to check the back of the Super Sofa for some Super Loose Change.

Look at all those markers on the map, look at the 6 non interchangeable currencies..... I love helldivers but this s a ubisoft game without all the tedious cut scenes 😉

Down to the last page of the Halo crossover. Outside of nostalgia, do not prioritize it. Talking about the new players who just started playing. It's one of the weaker warbonds. It's also the only one that doesn't give you any super credits back. Also of note, do not waste your time with super store armor really at this point. Instead work through the early game warbond getting stuff stacking super credits. That's unless your planning on buying everything with real money.

Agreed, tried the shotgun a bit but I wasnt impressed. The sounds are great, especially the assault rifle. I do like the SMG, its basically the knight but it doesn't piss away its ammo in a second

If you are new I'd recommend the Democratic Detonation warbond. 3 great primary weapons and the thermite.

Started with this one, thanks!

Thus far my experience with joining random groups have been a lot more misses than hits. No problem, I thought, I'll just host my own games so I can control if any toxic griefers join in. So I…

  • Made sure my NAT was open.
  • Made sure matchmaking was set to public.
  • Made sure I was doing missions in heavily populated sectors.
  • Dropped SOS beacons at the start of every mission.

… and I haven't gotten a single person joining. I've tried on difficulty levels 5 and 6, 6 being the highest I've been able to unlock so far.

I'm just a noob but any idea why people aren't joining? Am I missing a setting somewhere?

A lot of people don't look to join others cause game is pretty solo - able.

I guess you had a bit of bad luck? I joined a few games and had pretty good experience. Some of the hosts were pretty knowledgeable and got me extra rewards too.

I came back recently and nobody joined till I dropped a SOS. Not sure if the system change (first months, people were joining quickly after I start mission without SOS).

As soon as I drop a SOS, people joined quickly. Maybe I was just lucky. Did 3 missions like this (lvl 6).
Also I had a lot of trouble trying to join others' mission. Bug, impossible to connect, kicked just as I arrive because I guess they were waiting for someone etc...

Not sure people pay attention to level of host. Maybe it was just bad luck. But a bit weird that no one joined.
