Help me choose some GCN games, GAF.

Do not get Animal Crossing. I bought it a year ago, and my life hasn't been the same since. I swear I try not to play that stupid game, but I always have the urge to check in on the village... Haven't played on Halloween yet, so I'll have to fire it up in a few days....ugh, the addiction continues. I can go a good 2-3 months without touching it, but once I pop it in, it'll be a good 3 weeks before I stop again.

Personally I want to pick up Mario Kart DD, but I refuse to believe it's still at full price here. That's rediculous. It should be $19.99 now, same with Smash Bros still hovering at 30ish dollars.

MGS:TS is a must buy if you're a MGS fan. I really enjoyed it. Also a big :p to people who rag on Star Fox Adventures. For $20 it's a great game. Much better than that pos one Namco made.

What are people's thoughts on WaveRace? Kinda want to check that out this winter. Same with Rebel Strike, although I hope it's more forgiving than Rogue Leader. I own it, and it makes me want to rip the skin off my face at times in pure frustration.

I know I am in the minority, but I think the games that use "teh connectivitiez" are the best of all GameCube games.

But first answer the following questions:

1. Do you have any friends?
2. Do you have at least 2-3 GB:SP between you and your friends?
3. Do those friends some patience and an open mind?
4. Do you have an apartment that people like to chill at?

If yes to all then there are 3 and only 3 games for GameCube you HAVE to buy and play.

Zelda 4 Swords
Final Fantasy CC
Pacman Vs.

Your resident PC fanatic think it's high time to buy some new titles for his Cube. The last ones.

Games I already own: Prime, Prime 2, Wind Waker, Sunshine, F-Zero GX, RESIDENT FUCKING EVIL 4, Soul Calibur 2, Wario World, NFSU2, Ikaruga, Paper Mario 2

Wow, you have almost all the great ones. Even the vastly-underrated Wario World.

Well, I do recommend the Viewtiful Joe games, as well as PN03(though most would disagree)

Hm. Also, give Pac-Man VS a try. It's a blast with friends.

Can't think of too many GC exclusives that are must haves, but give Star Fox Assault a rent. It's a love it or hate it kind of game.

Pathetic :lol

"I don't want any multiplayer oriented games."

buh buh buh hey borys how about you play these multiplayer oriented games

:lol :lol :lol

Whatever, tell me how you like both Baten Kaitos and Symphonia. I liked them both, but Symphonia just has quicker battles. Both are just as sappy and cliche wacky jappy, but they're the best you're gonna get on the Gamecube.

As for the Skies of Arcadia tards, GTFO, you're fucking lame. :lol

Skies is closer to FF and stuff he's used to and has a better story than the abhorrent Baten Kaitos.

Unless you like abhorrent games.

OH YEAH THAT'S RIGHT

Ok that settles it.

Baten Kaitos and Tales of Symphonia it is. Two new games, two RPGs :) I hope they're long!

FF:CC sounds like a cheap attempt on cashing on the FF name and that stupid connectivity gimmick crap while MGS:TTS is same old MGS with new graphics.

Later when I save enough money I'll give Pikmin a spin. Which Pikmin should I buy - the first or the second one?

Thanks for your input, Hive.

Get the second Pikmin. No time limit that way.

Well since this thread is about GCN games I might as well ask this here:

Is Eternal Darkness worth playing?

After doing a search here on GAF it looks like you either hate the game or love it. Only a few thought it was an average game. I don't really feel like playing it for some reason but with so many RPGs in my back log I wouldn't mind a good adventure.

ED is still one of the best gamecube games. There is really NO reason to hate this gem. It has a nice retro-feel to it and plays like a dream.

I'm glad you decided to give Pikmin a chance, it would be stupid to miss out on the games just because you'd rather play RTS on PC.
Because in your post you said about BK and ToS, "I hope they're long!", i'd suggest maybe passing on Pikmin 1 since it's a short game. Pikmin 2 on the other hand lasts a long time.
