I love this game and I love my iBook. I want them to make sweet, sweet love. But I can't get it working.

I've tried DosBox, but the game stutters like hell. Is the Amiga Emulator better? I tried to download it from Zophar.net, but it has the file ending "tg.ungz" and I guess it's some kind of Gzip archive, but I can't open it. I'm not sure it works on OSX either.

What will I do? I want my portable X-Com fix.

Have you tried the performance tricks described in the dosbox documentation? I don't remember what they are, but I do remember there being a lot of ways to go faster.

Actually I had trouble with the keyboard mapping, so I used a GUI frontend (Petit Dosbox). No performance tweaks as far as the eye can see...

There's an updated Windows version of the game. Would I have better luck running some kind of Windows X86 emulation? I suck at this compability stuff.
