Help! Need a good PC pad for PSO BB

Picked up Phantasy Star Online Episode IV yesterday... now I need a good PC pad to play it with. Any recommendations?

Smartjoy PS2 all the way. No point in buying a PC USB controller when Smartjoy (picked up easily through Lik-Sang) + Dualshock2 does the job perfectly. I suppose you could also use the Netplay controller with the converter as well.

The Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual Analog is the best pad out there. The whole controller is covered in a silky rubber and it feels incredible. I wish every pad had it.

The picture doesn't do it justice, imo.

I agree with Crazymoogle totally - get the USB adaptor. They have it at Games Hollywood in Aki for sure, but they might have it at some places in Shibuya too.

Any idea how much? If I can't find it, I might consider the Logitech one, too...

Cool. Does it work well? The analog sticks work and everyting like that?
Oh yes. I used it for FFXI on the PC and it was basically exactly the same as the PS2 version (except for one minor difference which was built into the game rather than the pad). It even detects L3 and R3 when you push the analog sticks in.

Ooh. Sounds nice. I will have to track this down.

You aware of any specific places in Shibuya that might have it before I trek over to Akiba?

Allow me to second the recommendation for the Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual Analog. I use it for Blue Burst myself and used it for the old PC PSO too. It really is perfect for this game, and it's just a very nice pad overall. Has all the PS2 buttons including R3 and L3 and just has a really good feel to it. The analog sticks are better than the PS2 ones.

PSO Online Episode IV does not exist for PC neither home consoles. PSO Online Episode III exists, but only for GC.

At least that's is what I think, or did I miss something?

I know you've already been proven wrong but I still have to ask why you'd even make a comment like this when I just said I BOUGHT the game. Do you think I just said that for kicks? This isn't GameFAQs, you know.

I have the wireless version of this. (There's a third set of shoulder buttons to make up for Start/Select)

I also have and recommend the Nostromo n45 or the Trustmaster Dual trigger pads.

All 3 equal or go above the PS2 button count, have dual analog with push-in sticks and USB interfaces and cost $20 or less.

Why have 3? Mame, of course!

I got this one yesterday, ordered it from Lik-sang last week:

Great value at ~$10 (only about 8 euros). I tried it with Live for Speed, PES4 and NHL2005. With first two it worked really nicely but I couldnt get it work properly with NHL2005. Anyway, I love that I can now use my Xbod pads with PC games. :)

trust me on this, as this is a neat trick i just figured out.

first go to your local radio shack or internet store and buy the PS2 Dualshock converter for your PC.

next go to Wal-Mart (or your favorite internet dealer) and get the Logitech® Cordless Action™ Controller for PlayStation®2 which is on sale for only $39

and you have a super sweet very badass wireless controller for your PC! it works flawlessly on my PC (WinXP) and it's so nice to not have any wires stringing out from my desk and my controller puts up nice and neat with no wires when i'm done with it.

This man deserves a prize. I might do this and start playing MAME on the PC again.
