Went out on Saturday night, at the bar and feeling pretty tired and my friend says "you want the blue pill, or the red pill?" and gives me a herbal high. I took it and frankly I don't see how these things CAN'T be real drugs. I didn't get home till daylight and had a real A class comedown the next day, Felt terrific all night as well, pretty much a similar effect to a real E.

These things are just booming in this country (NZ) because an E costs 70-80 NZ$ a pill and you can get herbal highs for about 40 bucks for 4 pills and they are legal. There are shops opening up here, then closing down and moving to flasher shops and the market is flooded with them. There used to be 2-3 main types of herbals that you could get. Now there are probably about 20 different types.

Has there been any research done on side effects? I wouldn't be surprised if there are some studies out there saying you might as well just take real drugs.

Firstly, they are no substitute for a good E, on a totally different level IMO.

They are real drugs, "herbal" is just a trick name.
BZP is the main ingredient, this substance is illegal in many US states and in Australia.

The market is booming here in NZ, too much so, i predict BZP to be illegalised in NZ soon.

What is BZP?

BZP is a common name for the synthetic drug N-benzylpiperazine, a stimulant that is approximately 10 to 20 times more potent than amphetamine. BZP tablets, especially those that also contain the hallucinogen TFMPP (1-(3-trifluoromethylphenyl)piperazine), often are sold as MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine, also known as ecstasy) or promoted as an alternative to MDMA.

Ecstacy is soooooo 1990. In the UK you can buy an E for like £1.50. None of the cool kids are taking that shit anymore.

Really, what do the cool kids do this days? Pump some crank in their arm and pass out in a piss soaked basement?

I concur, E gave me chronic depression.

Also drinking and taking herbals are a bad mix, thats why the comedowns can be so bad.

I know, they give me an absolutely SCREAMING hangover and sometimes trigger a migraine, thats why I'm sure there will be some new study done that illegalises them pretty soon, apparently people turn up at A&E fairly regularly after taking them. When somebody offers you one when drunk, it seems like such a good idea!

I think they dry you out, 2x powerade on the way home lessens the effect greatly, you still feel pretty insane the next day though.

Keep trying! I hope I never become an alcoholic, the thought of giving up booze just kills me. This may be step 1 on the road to becoming and alcoholic, not sure.
