I haven't really had the chance to dive into 2.0 yet as I'm scrambling to get enough gold to purchase the master skin for Ragnaros before it lands, however someone mentioned that it would be "cheaper" to pick it up after?
Should I hold off? I only have Lucio still to pick up in my roster, should I get that instead?

Just logged in for the first time in forever, apparently I had a moint from Legion waiting for me. And 19.3k gold.

It was just announced that Blizzard are offering hero bundles for free with the launch of 2.0. It might be worth checking out to see which one you want.

Some time ago there was a Nexus Challenge that got you a handful of new heroes for playing some matches with friends. There is another one coming up, so it would be best to save the gold until after seeing if that will get you some free heroes. Also, with 2.0 we'll get treasure chests holding all sorts of goodies, and it will be possible to reroll them using gold. Also....
Check out these free MegaBundles you'll have to choose from when 2.0 launches. You'll probably get several heroes with at least one of them.

Rexxar is pretty good but requires some customization to get Misha's responsiveness right again. I haven't messed with him since the patch that messed him up, so you'll have to talk to some Rexxar specialists to find out what those custom settings need to be.

And wow, you've been gone way longer than I thought.
Save the gold. Buy whichever bundle is best for you on release, and then open up all the loot crates you'll get for free based on your account levels. You can use the gold to reroll those if you want to fish for certain skins or mounts or heroes or whatever. Then after all that, you can think about using gold for heroes again...but after the bundle and the boxes you should have enough new heroes to keep you occupied for a bit I would think.
The Cho'Gall quest was recently back in game. Not sure if it will be once 2.0 launches, though, since the Nexus Challenge will be active. Not sure I've seen them do more than one quest/event at one time yet.

I dont even know thes3 maps, I got a diablo map I never played and a SC map I deffinately never played.

Man Genji is mega fun, but you can have a great game and still lose like a mother. Has happened to me multiple times on PTR now. Like this game, for example:
We would've won if our Auriel knew how to use her trait and heal the team...but instead she got outhealed by double by a Newther. Also no clue what happened in that screenie. I took it as the MVP screen was loading. The Sylvanas BM'd the Auriel for the last few minutes about how she wasn't healing.
Looking at my Genji stats, I have a 10.0 KDA on him in 12 games. My account KDA is 5.0 and was 4.3 before I started playing him.
tl:dr You can definitely escape like a ninja.
I can't wait to main him in QM and my team have no wave clear and no other team fight capability and then I cry myself to sleep because I just wanna be a ninja.

Yeah they went all-in making teamfights all about rightly maintaining your deathball or breaking apart the enemy deathball. Lots of new types of moves were introduced to affect those dynamics and keep it interesting. Then plenty of maps that demand you be apart sometimes, so you have to choose your moments to split and regroup wisely. All the different sneaky or clutch ways to break down enemy comp reminds me of SC2 proleague.
Used to be best in game for it till they nerfed it hard. But I guess to be fair, soloing boss at 8 is a bit excessive.

Its interesting how everyone complains about Genji's damage being low, and it is if you just consider his AA and Q, but he's always been top 1 or 2 at the end of every game I've watched in hero damage. He's also like double digit kills and 0 deaths in every game I watch too lol. I am 100% certain that good Genjis are going to be the highest form of cancer this game has ever seen, and we all know how high of praise that is given my thoughts on Chromie.

Dunno if you still listen to THH scoobs, but they literally gave Genji a free mani-pedi, massage, and the happy ending while talking about him. They were split on how good they think he is currently, but they all agreed that how he sits now --- once some people sit down and play him a ton and really master him --- is going to result in nerf after nerf from his current state. Sort of like how they did Tracer, I guess, or recently with Tassadar rework. Neither were great winrate heroes among the masses, but they were both stronger than intended when the right person got hold of them. Tracer kept getting nerfs even after they got her winrate in line.
After playing him, he's just way too fucking fun. I'd be scared to release him if I was Blizz because he'll be hard to top in regards to nailing the fantasy of a hero. He's like a mix of Zul'jin AA range, and Zeratul's Vorpal build with Valeera's Dash...and then turned up to 11.
His damage does seem paltry at first glance, but if you position right and work in a good amount of AA damage with your Q spam you can do pretty good. Really, though, you're just trying to soften up the enemy for you to E and cut them down, then E away or into the next target. I've gotten two triple kills, a decent amount of doubles, and a quadruple with the resets plus the Dragonblade ult. People steal your kills a lot as Genji, too. I always feel like I should have 3 or 4 more kb's per game but someone sneaks in a hit at the last instant before my next ability or AA can go off.

Rule of thumb in HOTS: if the new hero is "just so much fun to play" it's because "they're wildly overpowered" 9 times out of 10.
I'll save my judgment til I actually get my hands on him and play against him for a week or so, but I have a sneaking suspicion I'm going to hate his guts. Also willing to bet Milly will love him and will definitely get mad at me for saying he's OP.

I wouldn't be shocked if he releases with a 40% winrate or a 60% winrate. The majority of them I've seen feed 5-10 times per game. Some are in the 2-4ish sweet spot and do well. One or two I've seen have had better numbers than the game I posted above.
It'll be hard to tell til we are on live with actual MMR based matchmaking. Right now you play people who aren't even in the same region at times, let alone MMR range.

Yah, when 2.0 hits I'm never touching brawls again. Just had an all Probius ARAM and it was possibly the least fun experience I've had in the game. You can't even tell which pylons and warp rifts are your own - they shouldn't allow a mode which makes the game such a mess.
Brawls have easily been the biggest dissapointment in the game. They are almost all uniformly unfun and terrible. I would love a permanent ARAM mode, but these are just bad (and the new one sounds *terrible*).

Well, the community at large has been more toxic as time goes on and player count keeps getting up but it's one of the softer community. I stumbled upon a player that managed to get silenced on PTR out of all places but other than that it's usually chill.

New map and people still don't know when to end. It's even more explicit in this one but people are so used to just run around like headless chickens and team fight all the time that they forget they need to push the cart even with a very safe push.

I'm legit having a blast playing Nova. Even more so now that I stopped doing the Snipe Master build.
Now I do the empowered attacks after using abilities build.
I think the most fun is when someone like a Guldan or Jaina or Li Ming catches me and breaks my stealth, then it's just a DPS race on each other to see who can drop all their damage faster. Whoever survives always has just a sliver of health. Fun as fuck.

Nexus Challenge 2.0 is a thing according to their schedule on the website. Details are set to be revealed on Tuesday. Will it give new heroes? Who knows. I think people would be disappointed if it didn't since the original challenge gave a good selection of heroes. But like you said, the mega bundle is already giving 20 heroes. It's all so complicated.

May 22nd for mega bundles. And I had read the free heroes for a month was China only, unless I read incorrectly. I haven't really followed that.

Nope. That's what the vet rewards are for. You can keep the 100 gems, but if you only have most but not all even buying a bundle for 1 hero is a better deal than whatever else you'd get to buy one. Plus you'll still have your other 1000 gems they are giving you.

RIOT! SOMEONE CREATE THE REDDIT THREAD, BLIZZARD IS PUNISHING THEIR DEDICATED PLAYERBASE!!!! THIS IS SO UNFAIR
Varian seems strong in qm even if you do end up having an actual tank on the enemy team for a couple of reasons going by the matches I've played so far.
1. People will blow cooldowns on you even if you haven't used parry yet like a KT pyroblast.
2. People will attack you even when you are protected thus resetting heroic strike and shortening your cooldown.
3. A lot of players don't expect taunt. Played against a Valeera and we killed her almost every time when she tried to engage into my team just with taunt and a Valla stun follow up. I often take Vigilance at 20 when we don't have a healer and it's pretty hilarious since you have basically no cooldown on taunt. Fantastic heroic and yet I don't see many people taking it, probably because it doesn't deal any damage.
4. If you don't place the banner directly in the middle of the fight, players tend to ignore it.
I think most of those points are only valid because of my shit tier MMR (certainly all the Colossus Smash Vairans) but I haven't had a game yet where I felt useless which happens with Zera at times.

Would definitely say if you ever think you'll play a smurf, now would be the time. You're going to have the free 20 hero bundle, new Nexus Challenge which may give other heroes, and probably no better time to do the RAF for Sylv and Raynor.
Same for me. I don't mind the bundles, think it's a great idea. My smurfs will also benefit as well to some degree, I guess. The vet rewards was a bigger deal for me due to the disparity of future earning potential, but they addressed that. They are really doing all they can to make this thing happen.
Dunno your MMR but the same shit happens in diamond so I think it's just him. He's just hard to balance for that mode and maybe hard to balance overall. I think maybe we were all better off when Twin Blades was the strongest and Taunt was the weakest, personally.

And we deserve more free stuff than everyone else by a substantial margin, probably double or triple, but even then it may not be enough. We will accept reparations in the form of 500 free loot boxes and no less.
Right now no chests can be opened on PTR (or at least I can't open any of mine). Seems like they are testing the way the system works to prepare for the huge influx next Tuesday.
