but it doesn't fit our fan theories 😭
Makes sense though
Assuming Nirolak's on that.No OT For 2.0?
Complete newb here to the MOBA genre. I've dabbled with LoL way back when and I didn't enjoy it (played a few hours at most). But I love the Blizzard universe and a friend keeps reminding me that this is a good entry to the genre. I've played it a few times and liked it but get easily overwhelmed with what's going on, talents to take, etc.
Is the best way to approach this overwhelming feeling by focusing on just one character and playing them until I really understand them completely and then later choosing another? Rinse, repeat?
I'm of the opinion games like these need you to be able to play multiple characters at any given time to complement the team, or is that really more an issue later when you get into ranked stuff? Basically, can you enjoy the game for a while at least by just focusing on one character?
Soooo having not played in a while who is the best healer these days? Got like 33k gold to spend
I'd say first figure out what role you like to play (Tank, Assassin, Specialist, Support/Healer) then lock down what hero you enjoy the most for that role.Complete newb here to the MOBA genre. Will they be doing something on twitch for the release of 2.0?
Can you still use gold to get heros in 2.0? I'm not entirely up to speed.

It's a team based game, and objectives matter. Get good with a handful of heroes and take them into quick match to get used to all the crazy different maps. With the free character pack, I am going to give this game a try. What should I know before diving in?

HOTS is updating. 1.15 GB or so for me.
huh I changed to Americas in the region/account and the play button changed to update... so if I get the patch now, will I still have to get it again tomorow I wonder?
edit: apprently so because when I select Europe again, it asks me to update which I assume takes it back to the previous version.
If you don't want to play between now and 2.0 going live you can switch to US, download it, then when we get it your button will just change to 'PLAY' on EU. At least, that's how previous patches have worked for me.
Waiting for this to launch. Getting all the overwatch characters lol (gonna pretend I'm playing a fps)
Play it the way you want. Try out a few and find the one that clicks, play them til you're comfortable and/or see another who tickles your fancy and go from there.
You do need to play multiple heroes to do ranked, but that's a while down the road. You'd need 14 heroes at level 5 to even unlocked ranked anyway.
I'd say first figure out what role you like to play (Tank, Assassin, Specialist, Support/Healer) then lock down what hero you enjoy the most for that role.
Then just focus on that hero until you feel comfortable branching out and doing the same thing with a different role.
Obviously you'll have to get familiar with the maps and their objectives.
This game is more focused on map awareness for objectives and team fights. So just learn the maps and your preferred role in a team fight.
Edit: There are sites out there with guides regarding popular builds. You can use those to get a good idea of what talents are good atm.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I appreciate the suggestions, I think I have a good idea how to approach this now along with getting some hands-on help from my friend who is slowly pulling me back in. Now seems like as good a time as any to really get in and learn the maps and overall fundamentals.I recommend that you try all the heroes on the free, weekly rotation that look interesting to you to settle on one or more heroes that you enjoy playing. You can also use the shop's Try Mode or Training/VS AI games for this evaluation.
It will take a long time to "completely" understand a hero because of the number of maps, heroes and changing meta so don't feel pressured to do so. Learning the general gameplay and maps is important since that knowledge will be transferable to any hero you choose to play later on.
I wouldn't worry about diversifying your roster just yet. Just keep in mind that you will need to have 14 heroes at level 5 to play un/ranked modes.
they work shockingly well in the game actually (I mean, not entirely surprising as even in OW their abilities always looked like they would work in a moba)
im super fucking excited for Li Li announcer pack, legit too not sarcastically :3
I'm guessing they are waiting until after the stream to bring up the servers?
any of you fools going to stream opening all the veteran boxes so I can partake in drinking your tears?
On the stream? Yeah that's how they display talents in pro games now.
