Same, I'm really looking forward to this one. I'll try to avoid media coverage though since the random jokes/events etc. etc. was what really made the first one shine for me. Definitely want to go in blind again.

I feel like I got my fill of the premise with the first game.. and I'm not sure doing the same thing but on a skateboard, is enough to get me excited.

But! If it's good I'll check it out.

I know that site gives way too high numbers to often, for my liking but still. Reviewer claims that even though Roiland is not part of it, its way funnier than the first one. Well, I'll see for myself because humor is subjective.

console versions look like shit, run like shit...
UE5 delivers once again 🤣 792p on PS5 Pro

but for real, UE5 can not get enough hate. it's such a dogshit engine it's actually insane.

Man it feels like barely a year since I played the first one and there is already a sequel? Oh it was three years. Fuck, why does time go much faster the older you get. Well even 3 years is pretty short devtime these days.
First game was pretty fun, 8/10 for me, so I will be installing this tomorrow on PC GP.

I want to be excited for this, but man, if the writing is like it was in the DLC I'm not even sure I can bring myself to buy it.

792p? Man I am kinda worried for GTA6

GTA6 runs on Rage. so it should be fine.
the precise issue with UE5 is that devs use its features as shortcuts. instead of having good looking baked GI, they just throw Lumen on it and leave it.

UE5's Lumen is so insanely awful, it's really hard to hammer home just how bad it is. it looks worse than literally all of the competition's RT implementations, while also running worse.

there's a guy who remade the first few level of the PS1 Toy Story 2 game in UE5.
and at first he used Lumen, and because Lumen is so unstable he also was forced to use TAA to smear it in order for it to look cohesive.
but as he was finishing the project and polishing it, he decided to turn Lumen off and just bake the lighting instead. it increased his performance by an insane amount, and allowed him to turn off TAA, which made the game look 10x better while boosting performance from 1080p 25fps on high, to 1440p 70+fps on max settings...

that's what Lunen does to a game. it makes it look blurry and unstable, while absolutely destroying performance.
and that's exactly what you see in High on Life 2, and basically in every single game that uses Lumen.

Lumen literally makes games look worse, while reducing performance sometimes by 75% or more.
