Odd, I remember being able to walk there after killing the Paris target on the main mission. Do they block it for this ET?

Odd indeed. Tried it multiple times from different angels, no luck. Funny things is that the AI could seemingly walk on it. (Was a guard walking 1/3 on thew runway).

Even tried with different explosive to move the target, but got caught an gunned down :(

A while ago there was a bug fix to prevent the falling light rig from causing damage in the basement. That could have caused the runway to be blocked off at the same time.

May be, I really don't know, anyway no "biggy", just left a little sour taste, after-all was my first ET.

Just started playing this after buying it on sale last December and having a great time so far.

Must say I was seriously impressed by the amount of people in the Marrakesh level (on a PS4 Pro) and the engine in general.

Not sure I fully understand Mastery points though, I did the Home Alone Paris mission and didn't get any Mastery points?

You get mastery points for completing challenges.

Each main mission has a Mastery Rank that goes all the way up to 20. Anything you complete on that mission's location, be it the main mission, escalations or contracts can make you complete challanges and those grant you point towards the Mastery Rank. Completing the Home Alone should have granted you some points for killing the targets since there are challanges related to that.

One thing to add: on the planning screen for any mission, you can tab to "Challenges" to see exactly which challenges you can get for doing that particular mission and how much XP each one grants.

The challenges available in each story mission, each bonus mission, each escalation, each elusive, and user contracts as a whole will be different.

As someone who bought this during the Winter Sale and just finished getting level 20 mastery on all levels today, I have some advice.

You can complete multiple opportunities/challenges during a single run. You don't have to finish a mission to have it marked as complete on your account, although you do have to finish the mission to get the xp and unlocks. So for instance say there are two challenges, one for poisoning the target and one for drowning him/her. You can save the game, poison the target with a lethal poison, reload the save, poison them with an emetic and drown them in the toilet. When you finish the mission you will get credit for both. By playing around and planning just a teensy bit you can get to mastery 20 with 4-5 mission completions.

Boss Doggie

all my loli wolf companions are so moe
I'm gonna be in a hitman sabbatical because I was annoyed at how my ET ended up lol

I'll return after Landslide comes.

You don't actually even need to finish to get the mastery points, the game saves very time you complete a challenge so even if you just quit to menu you still get all the points. It's great for Sapienza because I just couldn't be arsed with the destroying the virus most of the time.

Right, but it doesn't unlock the starting points/drop locations/items until you finish a mission in that location, unless I'm missing some trick. Once you hit level 20, yeah there's no point to finishing the mission.

I think it does still unlock the starting/drop locations. I died on my first run of Bangkok but had gotten up enough levels to start in a new location when I wanted to try it again. Not sure about the items though.

Woooo! Took out The Blackmailer in 4 minutes and got a Silent Assassin rating. That felt awesome.

Silent Assassin on the Blackmailer done.
You don't even need to use the syringe to get him into the bathroom, just toss a coin outside the door as he's coming off stage and then another one to lure him into the bathroom.

I was planning on sniping him from the top floor as he walked the catwalk for, you know, style, but you can't really get a good angle.

I always made one save for each location where I stand right next to the exit to finish the mission. After unlocking some challenges I just load that one save and be done with the unlocks :)

I just started playing this and I love it! I'm playing without the opportunities and instinct button, but I can't find a wrench anywhere. Any hints to where I should look?

Edit: in the Sapienza level.

Phew I did it.

Lured him into the bathroom, snapped his neck, stashed the body, grabbed the memory stick and went out the front entrance.

2 Down, 3 to Go.

I love the lethal injection for the elusive targets, it's just so quick and it even counted as accident on the last ET since it can't be detected (like f. ex. the garrote).

4 hints for 4 places I can remember:
- Underground laboratory
- Silvio's garden
- Alleyway
- Museum(?)

If you want specifics, you can always visit Hitman Maps.

If you're in the villa, search the garden shed or the garage.

If you're outside the villa, in the back alleys there's a guy working on a boat. There's a wrench on the boat.

There are a few more in obscure places but you'll probably never go there.

Finally got the sexy Winter Coat, now I know what 47 will be wearing for the Bonus Episode next week!

But I wonder, what's even the point of having a second objective when he's just carrying the memory stick in his pocket? I followed him for a while, hoping he would lead me to the memory stick or talk to someone about it, but then I re-read the briefing and found out he just has it on him. I thought it was supposed to make elusive targets harder, by not being able to restart after finishing the first objective. Having the target just walk around with it kinda defeats that purpose.

if you kill him with an accident or a ranged weapon it will make it harder
if you fiberwire him on the toilet it doesn't matter

I assume it's just to add some complexity to a long range snipe as a choice. Plus it adds some risk to any melee kill.

Got rank 20 in paris and the last few challenges are pretty boring, so it's time to move to the next level.
I would have move on sooner, but the download on my PS4 takes forever and I really wanted to play some more.

I guess you're right about that, I'm so deep into Silent Assassin mode, I didn't even consider a sniper kill or just gunning the guy down.

I actually did kill him on the toilet with the fiber wire.

This elusive target was frustrating.

I saw him eat some sushi, so I poisoned it and waited for him to come back around and eat some more (so I could kill him in the bathroom and get SA). I waited FOREVER, but he never went back to the sushi, so I restarted and pricked him with poison syringe, didn't get spotted... And he went and vomited in the garbage can instead of the bathroom. I said "Fuck it", stabbed him with a screwdriver and just ran for it.

He never
actually eats the sushi. He goes over to it, looks it over and says how good it looks, but that it doesn't look as good as him. Then he puts it down and walks away from it.

I fucked up the Blackmailer.
I don't even know if it's possible to get the memory stick if you collapse the rigging on him.

It is possible. Check my post on the last page where I linked a video of someone doing exactly that.

Also patch notes for tomorrow are out

January Update Release Notes
Bonus Mission: Landslide Overview

New Bonus Mission: Landslide (Sapienza)
5 new Guided Opportunities for ”Landslide"
1 new weapon/gear unlock (earned through challenges)
- The Big One
35+ Landslide-specific challenges
3 new trophies/achievements for Landslide

For details of the two other Bonus Missions, first released in July 2016, see the release notes.

General Improvements

Professional Difficulty Level
We've added an entirely new difficulty level: Professional.
Professional Difficulty Level offers extended replayability, new game features, a separate mastery track with unique rewards, tweaked game mechanics and new AI behaviour that combine to create an entirely new experience for all players. For full details on this exciting new addition, take a look at our dedicated blog post.

Bonus Mission: Landslide
The January Update enables access to the third Bonus Mission, Landslide, for owners of the Complete First Season or Upgrade Pack.
Landslide is also available through the 'Bonus Episode', which is now being sold individually on all platforms and includes all three Bonus Missions.

Improved Menu Navigation
We've made it easier to navigate between all the content in game and get to where you want to be faster.

HDR Support
If you've got the right TV, HITMAN will now offer HDR support on PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One S and PC.
*See below for more details relating to HDR Support on PC.
Contract Favourites

We've added functionality that will allow you to add any created Contract to 'My Favorites', allowing you to easily find the Contracts you have enjoyed the most.

Modified Attention Gain Modifiers
We have adjusted the attention gain modifiers so that instead of NPCs instantly focusing on 47 when the attention gain starts, a threshold has been introduced to give a window of opportunity in which to hide. This change reduces the times where briefly entering an NPCs peripheral vision would cause the player to become spotted.

Illegal Item Warnings
We've added an exclamation mark status to suspicious or illegal items, so that players know whether picking them up in front of an NPC will cause a reaction. This is similar to the status indicator that is shown before performing an action.

On-screen Mission Timer
We've added an option to the 'Gameplay' menu that will allow you to display an on-screen Mission Timer to keep track of the mission playthrough time. The Timer will be restarted when the contract is restarted or replanned but will continue from when a save game is loaded. The Mission Timer is a separate HUD option that is toggled independently. This option is designed for competitive play.

Disable Autosaves
We've added an option to the 'Gameplay' menu that will allow you to turn off autosaves. Manual saves will still be available. Autosaves will be set to 'on' by default.

Added Colorado 'Hidden Hand' cutscene to the 'Story' Menu
The Colorado 'Hidden Hand' cut-scene has been added to the 'Story' Menu. This description is purposefully vague to avoid any possible spoilers.

Notebook Improvements for Contract Creation
When creating a contract, the 'notebook' page now shows the cause of death and used disguise for marked and eliminated targets.

Contract History Filter
In the 'Contracts History' menu, you can now filter the Contracts between 'All', 'Completed' and 'Failed'.

Contracts Search Improvements
We've added more options to the Contracts Search menu. You can now select from four 'Disguise' options. You can also select 'Any method' for how the target was killed.

Get Your Suits In Order
We've revised the order that suits are shown in the menus to make them more consistent and logical across all locations.

Loadout Details
The Loadout screen now displays the amount of each item that will be equipped. For example "x3" is displayed on the icon for coins, because you will have 3 coins.

Pistol-kill Sound Effect
With a previous update, we introduced a subtle sound effect that played with a pistol kill. Based on player feedback, we've removed the high-pitched part of this sound effect.

Loud Disguises
We have fixed an issue that made some disguises extremely loud, particularly those with additional cloth such as a chef's apron.

Option to Adjust Subtitle Size
We've added an option to the 'Language' menu that will allow you to choose the exact size of the subtitles.

Choose Settings at Start-up
We've added a one-time boot screen that allows you to select graphics options, such as HDR, and language/audio options when you initially launch the game. These options can later be found in the Options menu.

Escalation Contract Images
We've updated some of the objective/complication images for Escalation Contracts to give them a unified style.

Brightness Adjust Settings
When you're changing settings such as brightness in-game, we've removed the menu so you can see exactly how the changes will look during gameplay.

Pull an Enemy, Part 3.
In this update, we've (finally) added the ability for 47 to pull people over balconies or out of windows, when he is hanging on a ledge or below the balcony/window. Anyone who sees this will react accordingly.

Updated the text on the in-game 'Intel' menu to make it clear how to acquire Intel
Improved stability of multiple opportunities and actions when saving/loading at specific times
Fixed an issue where the red 'hit-marker' would appear on-screen after using the 'Eliminate' kill with a pistol
Fixed an issue that could cause the audible beep from fire alarms to continuously loop
Fixed multiple examples of interactable objects in multiple locations not being highlighted in Instinct
Improved consistency of the Challenge Pack descriptions
Fixed an issue that could cause game sound to momentarily stutter

PC-Specific Issues

Fixed an issue where using a Radeon R9 card and DX11 could result in Texture Quality not changing from "Low"
Fixed an issue where the primary monitor would always be selected when applying default settings with Exclusive Fullscreen and default resolution

HDR Support Notes (PC)

Exclusive fullscreen is required to use HDR on PC for both DirectX 11 and DirectX 12
Nvidia cards currently won't switch the TV into HDR mode in DirectX 12. Please use DirectX 11 until this issue is resolved
If you encounter problems with the TV not switching into HDR mode, try disconnecting all monitors except the TV
Please note that 4K@60hz 10/12 bpc RGB is not supported by the HDMI 2.0 standard. Instead, if 4K@60hz is desired, 4:2:0 or 4:2:2 chroma subsampled output can be configured via the control panel provided by the graphics card vendor

Known Issues

Adjusting the 'Master Volume' option has no effect on the VO of Diana or NPCs. This will be fixed in a future update

What's Next?

- The current Elusive Target, The Blackmailer, is in Paris until Monday Feburary 6th at 2pm CET.
- Later this week, we will publish the 'February Content Schedule' to let all players know what is being added to HITMAN throughout the month.
- The next Elusive Target will be the first one in Hokkaido, and the first opportunity for all players to unlock the White Yukata. Stay tuned to the blog for more info on that soon.

The patch is going to be huge. Hopefully their servers survive the rush of new players.

Currently trying Silent Assassin Suit Only on Colorado. Got 2 of the targets so far but man it's tough.

Good level though, very different to the rest.

Out of curiosity can anyone tell me when they changed the location of the guard who's watching the Masseur in Marrakesh? He used to sit on the sofa facing him, which made it easy to knock him out first but now he's standing behind it with his back against the wall.

I noticed the exact same thing. I thought I was going crazy.

Presumably they realized that no one will ever use the TV distraction option when this is available.

Yay new achievements for Landslide. Nothing for pro difficulty though makes me a sad panda.

And no platinum, but that was easy to guess. They would have to make a separate trophy list for this release and it would piss off some digital version owners. ;)

Season 2 will probably be a separate list, because there's a limit on how many points you can get from trophies from a single title (Driveclub has reached that limit).

Im still hazy as to how this game scores. For the blackmailer, I did what everybody else seems to have done: lure him into the bathroom with coins and/or using the faucet. I killed him with a poison syringe, stashed the body, walked out and got in the helicopter. Yet, I only got a 4 star rating?

Granted it took me a little bit of time to get the timing right on the coin toss so I didnt draw somebody else and not the intended target. Also I had to knock out a bus boy who was standing right outside the bathroom because he would always respond to any coin tosses (I thought that if you stash the body it doesnt count against you?). Unless I am mistaken on the knockout body hiding issue, the only other thing I can think was time?

What was everybody elses completion time?

Completion time has nothing to do with the star ratings. You probably got spotted knocking out the staffer at the bathroom or he spotted you while you took him out. The general rule with knocking people out while setting up your kill room is that you have take them out from behind. If you punch them, the victim will always spot you. It doesn't matter whether you hide the body or not.

I definitely choked him out from behind. No punching.

Not that I noticed. I started the level from the dressing room dressed as a stylist and then went out the back to the helicopter. I didnt see any message saying I was spotted, but Im not sure if there are cameras out that way.
