Maybe he was busy and couldn't commit enough time anymore? Boring perhaps, but why does everything have to be a dramatic conspiracy.

Because conspiracies can be fun!

We wouldn't have Deus Ex without them.

EviLore is travelling around Europe in a search for the perfect place to set up his NeoGAF empire that he and only he will rule.

Wow, what a shock. I always have seen Hito as the right hand man of Evilore, well Hito and Jim. But then when Jim was demoded i thought Hitokage became second in command. This is a huge news. BTW Hitokage was an administrator.

I might have my NeoGAF history wrong, but I remember reading that Hitokage was an admin of Gaming-Age Forums before the 2004 version of the forums that EviLore started. So that means that he's stepping down from the duties he's had for about 10 years, or maybe more.

It begins, Evilore laying off his OWN people to pay for his Eurotrip.

Communist revolution is needed.
While i could see Evilore demodding Mumei, there´s no way in hell that Hitokage would be demodded. It must have been his choice to do it. I know that Hitokage liked that Mumei became a mod, and probably did not like the direction that Evilore has taken gaf into.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
There comes a time in every moderator's life when he finally must moderate himself. Hands in the badge, sizeable payout, and thirty years of moderation immunity posting. We all knew this when we signed up. Not exactly long term planners. Have to close the loop.

I nominate SmokeyDave as his replacement. All hail Dave!!
Seeing SmokyDave in red letters will immediately give off an ominous vibe.

In two months, you'll see threads where someone says something stupid and a smarter person will be all like "don't say that, SmokyDave WILL KILL YOU MAN"

RIP Hito. You were always one of the coolest mods. :(

SmokyDave is appeased by big boobs though, so it'll be easy to placate him.

I'm taking your job buddy

So Hitokage is Bruce Willis and GAF is JGL?

I throw my hat into the mod ring. Electing me will get you all the bowls of Fruity Pebbles you can eat, bottomless baskets of bacon, and 1 ticket for a FREE hug from Gabe Newell

Mumei refuses to answer the reason for why he no longer is a mod. And now this. I wonder if the two are related. I can't imagine EviLore to be happy about these changes.

Mumei is a pretty big loss for the Football Thread.

He/she kind of seemed to be able to understand the rambling going on in there without having to pull out the ban hammer too often.

Nothing banworthy gets said in there anyway.

I can't be arsed to find it but I'm sure EviLore posted something soon after Mumei ceased being a mod in which he said Mumei was "good people" and implied that there wasn't any bad blood or serious dramah going on.

I don't wanna know the ins and outs, but a bit of transparency would be nice though. A (great) mod and a long-serving admin both step down and people are getting the banhammer just for asking the question? This is a forum not North Korea. Information wants to be free, yo.

Wait. What are you talking about?

There wass drama with both, that's for sure.

There would be a farewell retirement threads otherwise if all was well and good.

I'm sure the moderation doesn't want to deal with a big thread with people potentially taking sides. They discussed the issues themselves already.

I'm not in the loop, just assumptions.

Godspeed Hito!
Without the strict enforcement of the ToS and the general guidelines that ensures this place is a very lively community of well-spoken people with insightful comments, we would not be there in first place. Like all your mates, you made this possible, both for our entertainment and our enightment.

Thank you.

edit: I should add also for the sake of completeness that the general presentation and the possibilities given to users (also in their technical limitations) to express themselves has made this place a haven for many of us.
