28 April 2005
Growing numbers of teenagers are taking part in a new group sex craze known as 'daisy chaining', nurses warned yesterday.

The practice involves children having sex with several partners at parties.

School health workers told the Royal College of Nursing's annual conference that they were becoming aware of the phenomenon.

Judy McRae, a sexual health nurse in London, said: 'Colleagues are coming across reports of groups of young people having sex in large groups.

'As we understand it, it involves groups of older teenagers going round to each other's homes and having sex in a similar way as swinging.'

Charities warned that the practice could lead to a rise in young people contracting sexually-transmitted diseases.

'Risky sexual practices like these are the surest way to spread sexually transmitted infections such as HIV,' said a spokesman for the Terrence Higgins Trust.

'It is very worrying that young people are putting themselves at risk in this way.'

Kathy French, a sexual health adviser with the RCN, said there was pressure on boys from friends to become sexually active.

'The young boys are having problems competing with their peers because girls go for older boys.'

The conference, in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, also highlighted the case of a 14-yearoldboy who became infected with HIV through unprotected sex.

When the boy was told he had the virus, he claimed he could not have caught HIV as it 'only happens to older people', delegates were told.

Somehow I think HIV/safe-sex education has been completed erradicated from schools.

I can remember having an HIV talk at least once a year when I was in middle school. "It only happens to older people?" WTF! Get in there and educate instead of constantly bitching about the problem CDC.

When I was on my cruise, all these teenage girls were swapping partners all the time. It was pretty sick. They didn't care or anything. Quite a few came up to me as well, but I like my penis not falling off, thank you very much.

I'd say it's less that, and more the typical teenager mentality of "it won't happen to me".

And it's hard to blame 'em...TV shows and movies are filled with people sleeping around at a whim, with no consequences whatsoever. And if you don't get laid on a frequent basis before you graduate high school, you're some sort of loser (forget losing your virginity). Add in the usual peer pressure that goes on, and this is what we get.

Frankly this is a non-story to me...if you've had your head stuck in the sand, then I guess this is news.

I'm 18 years old...A Senior in high school. And certain people do just go all out at parties. They get drunk, and bend every girl they can find over the pool table. Then they never talk to them after that. That's just it. I'm happy to say, I only have one sexual partner...And I don't have HIV.

Though I will probably get some eye-candy with those booth babes at E3. :D

Fantavision is the past, Lumines is the future!!

OH yeah those kids are idiots nowadays.
This has been going on for decades, they're just starting younger. Can't say i blame them with tv and parents who aren't at home most of the time.

Why do we need England to tell us that teenagers fuck too much.

Well, you must be going to some bombass parties cuz I'm in a fraternity, and have been to parties other frats have thrown, and something like that rarely ever happens.

Not that I'm implying that the practices described above are a good thing.

I wasn't grumbling at all...was merely stating the obvious. I don't have a kid, so frankly I couldn't give a fuck. But if I did, I'd be on their ass over shit like this so much I'd probably force 'em out of the home with hatred. :lol

This shit happens in the US and Canada. Rainbow parties and sex bracelets are all the rage. My girlfriend recorded an episode of Marketplace where they talk to this 12 year old girl about the bracelets that she's wearing and she tells it to them straight about what each one means.

Kids are stupid. We had the fear of HIV burned into us as kids.

I suspect the sex bracelet thing is a huge urban legend. Sure, the kids may know what they "mean" but have they actually performed those acts?

Here's some good reading on the subject:

The bracelet and what they mean are a scare tactic. Just like how they assume every girl who gets her tongue pierced does nothing but suck dick.

Wow, where were these parties when I was in high school?

And ditto about the bracelets. Everyone knows what they "mean" but who actually does that shit?

And werent rainbow parties something that Oprah invented out of the blue(and maybe now kids do it because they got the idea from her hahaha but I doubt that too)? When I was in my early teens I wish I had known a hot girl that was into putting on colored lipstick and sucking off several guys in a night.

Eh, actually, I've read a few articles of some specific school comunities (all involving the 6th or 7th graders) where these 6th and 7th graders actually follow up on the bracelet wearing with the actual acts, too.
