Canucks game. Sharks score 3 goals on 6 shots 1st period lol. Demko out for the season *chuckles*

Lankinen gets pulled in the 1st period. I wonder if a Canuck forward jumped on the ice out of habit...

Nucks have had goalie issues for years. Demko is overrated by a mile and injury prone to boot.

They got to get rid of this guy, but doubtful as he's $8.5M and has a no move clause. If they can get him to waive it, there will likely be some takers willing to gamble on him since he's 30 years old. You'll get a team willing to offer something good back or at minimum a first round pick.

Another thriller in Montreal. Habs beat Vegas 3-2 in ot.
I keep thinking Habs have got to freefall eventually. Their D and goaltending isnt even that great. But they got good scoring who keeps scoring at that right time to win!

It's the curse. We had the best goalie tandem at one point and we blew it. The hockey gods were not happy...

Outdoors TB Bos game is awesome. Lots of scoring, getting chippy and goalies just fought. Jon Cooper dressed like a gangster too

I agree, I think Fowler is gonna be the man. Just needs a bit more time with Laval.
Hey you were right! 😃

Fowler was recalled a couple of days ago when he won a close one against the Sens.

Now watching my recorded game against the Sharks and Dobeš is in goal.

With the playoffs near let's go with those 2.

I got no confidence in Monty.

Man, the Leafs ended up doing BAD this year. Go Habs and Oilers! ✊

I'd also be happy for Buffalo Sabres fans if their team won for the first ever :pie_open_mouth:

Dude, I thought this was an April fools joke and it wasn't. The Canucks win and STILL allow 6 goals...wtf is up with the 6 goal games???

Avs arent going anywhere with those two goalies. They'll get past the first round playing whichever crappy WC team makes 8th spot. No way Blackwood and Wedgewood are good enough to win a cup no matter what their stats say in reg season.

Agreed, that's why I think Dallas gets out of the west this time.
It should be Dallas, and crazy enough Oilers have a shot too as long as Ingram can play decent. You never need all star goalies for Oilers to go far. Just avg. If Ingram fails, they are done since Jarry is one of the worst goalies in the league, so unlike other years they got Pickard as a half decent back, they got no good back up this time.

I dont see Minny going far. They never do as they never have enough all star players to carry them long term.

Vegas wont go far either. Terrible goaltending with Hill, but they keep playing him some reason.

Dude when you take the negative goal differential of the eastern conference teams and add them together it is -104.

The Canucks ALONE are -91

Of that -104 the Leafs are 1/3 of that number.

The goals against differential between the Avs and the Canucks is about 200 goals.

Frankly, I think the Oilers do have a shot (to get there, not to win) as they will only have to win one series before the finals where they will not be the favorites. I'd be surprised, but the chances are not zero. Presumably the Dallas-Colorado winner will have some chunks taken out of them before the series and they have handled Dallas before when they have had a head of steam.

Carolina v Tampa for the east most likely. Tampa is probably still the best but they are not the invincible 5 years ago Lightning. Carolina has a history of falling short in the playoffs but they should be in the semi-finals. If the Flyers actually do get in, I will be there for the first 2 home games. Not that I like our chances, just want to go to a big game again.

I hope everyone continues to count the Habs out this year. Fuel for the fire. I firmly believe they are gonna surprise a ton of people!

Same with Buffalo, I think everyone just sees us as happy to be there for once, not an actual threat. We've beat Tampa in regulation three times in the last month.

I dont follow Buffalo, but I'm not sure how or why they suddenly turned it around to go on a giant streak to be among the best teams. I think it was the same roster right? But something clicked and they went on fire rest of year.

But good to see Buff in. It's tiring seeing the same teams make the playoffs. Made worse by a terrible playoff format where the same teams basically play each other every year in round 1 or 2.

I was too young to follow hockey at the time, but in the early 80s when the the NHL took on WHA teams, the playoff formate for 1 or 2 years was literally crazy but awesome...... 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15 etc... That would be wild. The unique match ups youd get would be great to see.

We were so spoiled in Montreal in the 70's with the Habs winning the Cup so many times.

I remember when I was 9 years old in 1977 when a friend asked me if I was going to the Stanley Cup parade and I just answered "Nah I'm good I'll just go next year" 😆

It's fun to see the enthusiasm in the city after so many dead years.

I was only 2 in 77 so I don't remember any of that. I do remember watching in 86 with my dad and of course 93. Other than the playoff run a couple years ago it's been dry. These last couple of years has been some of the most fun I've had watching Habs games. There is just something about this team.

Also I'm a gold member!! What a surprise to wake up to. Thank you so much man, I appreciate it! Go Habs go!

Fucking hell you're " Topher Topher " old!? 😯

I was still a kid when they last won the Stanley cup in 93 but I had not that much interest back then for Hockey, still watched it as it was basically a religious event in all of Quebec.

But I got really into hockey later in adult life. But the early 2000's were so fucking frustrating to watch them. Now I've never been more hooked into Hockey since this young team. It's magic seeing them play. They seem to have fun there's friendship, the Habs probably have not had an attack like this in decades (5 of them above 60 points, only team in the league so far this season). And more importantly, Hugues did his magic and most of the youngsters are signed for like the next 6~8 years at low prices. If they don't bring a Stanley cup in the next 5 years I'll be shocked.

Yeah I'm an old wolf 😋

Still dress as a 15 year old with my track pants, t-shirt and baseball cap.
It's a cliché but age truly is just a number.

Again, we were truly spoiled in Montreal.
I also remember during the 1976-77 campaign when the Habs only lost 8 games.

And reading in the paper how head coach Scotty Bowman gave all the players punishing practice drills after those losses 😆

I didnt think Habs would be this good all year. I kept thinking they'd fall off eventually since their goalies werent even pulling in great stats but Dobes and Fowler have been doing well checking their stats. Monty is junk and should not be played.

I've been to a couple Habs games. Great games, but if you ever go make sure not to pick the cheap upper rafter seats. I dont know if it applies to both ends, but the side we were on is one of those shitty designed arenas where it's cut off. Since our seats were at the back we couldnt even really see the scoreboard unless we ducked our heads as the pressboxes (I'd assume) were above us and poked out obscuring our view.

Stop off at Dunn's deli before the game. Waking distance to the arena.

All these happy Habs, meanwhile Leafs have gone back to crap tier play that we usually reserve for first round playoff collapses

As a Sabres fan, thank you for beating them in regulation as well. Bumped our odds of winning the division a good 10-15% on it's own.

My buds and I go to a Sabres game every year.... but oddly not this year. Fun games in a budget arena. But we all like how Buffalo is an old school blue collar vibe so the arena and every pub plays stuff like Bon Jovi.

Pearl St pub great pizza. A shame Swannie House closed. Great wings!

Good to see Sabres make it back to the playoffs. Not sure what happened to turn it around. Seemed like the same roster. Suddenly they went on fire.

Yeah it's been a wild season, if you told me we'd make the playoffs this year I thought it would be squeaking in as a bubble team on the last day. Leading the division with two games left? Insanity.

It's funny because growing up our house was always either Leafs or Habs fans. My mom never followed sports, but somehow she still remembered Bobby Orr.

Regardless, that was the old days so out of town games you had to either catch a radio feed or watch highlights. Sometimes we'd actually turn on the radio and listen together to hear Rick Jennerett calls. This is when Lafontaine and Mogilny were raking in the pts. Loved it. Best commentator ever even though none of us were Sabres fans. The timing was so great there were times we'd go out to family dinner, turn on Sabres radio in the car hoping for a goal. Yup, we heard Lalalala-Lafontaine or Alexander The Great live in the car.

My mom got me hooked on hockey.

She was a teacher and used to grade her papers while watching the game shouting "Come on Robinson back check!" 😄
Yelling and cheering for Guy Lafleur.

I'm so grateful she gave me this gift.

She also told me her mother was a big wrestling fan 😄

And we're in! Been too long. I suspect, considering our history against the current Penguin team that we will not be here for long, but still better than missing the dance again. Their guns are long in the tooth, so just maybe...
I will be there for at least game 3, currently working on game 4.
