Pre-orders for the game are also now available in the following editions:

  • Physical Standard Edition ($59.99)
  • Digital Standard Edition ($59.99)
    • The digital edition of Hogwarts Legacy for Switch 2 is available at a discount to players who already own the digital or physical Switch edition. Players who own the physical edition of Hogwarts Legacy on Switch will need to download [Activate Hogwarts Legacy Owner's Discount on Nintendo Switch 2] in-game to see the available discount on Nintendo eShop.
  • Digital Deluxe Edition ($69.99)

It's odd to make a gameplay trailer a comparison video.

and "discount"? no upgrade pack for.$10? Sheez...

It is $10 if you own the Switch 1 version:

It's presented as a discount instead of an upgrade fee because the Switch 2 version is a dramatically different build than the OG Switch version, so it can't just be patched into the new version like with standard Switch 2 Edition games.

It's the same thing from a price perspective though.

DLSS doing some heavy lifting

Nintendo is always one or 2 generations behind in the looks department. But now they decided to charge premium price

Already have my digital copy. DAY FUGGIN' ONE!

This is how I'll be fleshing out my Switch 2 starter kit:
Mario Kart World ($49)
Cyberpunk 2077 ($69)
Bravely Default ($39)
Fast [WHATEVER] ($15)
Hogwart's Legacy ($10)

Average cost of launch titles: $36.40 per title.

I'm very tempted to buy Hogwarts Legacy for $18 this week and then buy the $10 when I get my Switch 2.

I'm also getting the Mario Kart World bundle, and will probably break down and get Fast Fusion too.

Cyberpunk is going to have to wait for a sale though, because I'll already be well over $500 in the hole and I'm not a fucking plutocrat.

This is tempting me way more than it should.

Right now in the U.S., Hogwarts for Switch 1 is on sale for $18. So, if you buy it, you can get the Switch 2 version for $10 more. A $28 Switch 2 game is hard to resist, especially knowing the game is well-regarded.

I have to remind myself I have no interest in Harry Potter. Heck, I've never even seen the movies, read the books, anything. Plus, I've got a substantial backlog.

But a good deal for those on the fence for sure. It had bugged me that they were charging full price with no upgrade path for Switch 1 players. Turns out that's not the case.

Yeah, or Poyu Poyu Tetris 2. Looks like they believe you should have to buy games a second time if you want some basic enhancements. They've learned all the wrong lessons from the their acquisition of Atlus, lol.

Its kind of adorable. They think theyre nintendo.

The Switch 2 version of Hogwarts Legacy is running at 1440p, while the PS4 Pro version is at 1080p and PS4 is at 900p.

Would be good to get someone with an optimised Steam Deck build (RT off) and targeting the same framerate so we can judge draw distance, NPC counts, texture and material detail, etc…

For someone with a Steam Deck and a Switch 2 where should they play Hogwarts Legacy?

This is so bizarely worded, I thought you could only buy the Deluxe edition at 59$ if you had the Switch 1 version, not that the upgrade would cost 10$.

But pass for me, I played it until the end on my Steam Deck (horrible performance), I got it "for free" on PS Plus several weeks ago, I don't want to play it again on the Switch 2.

It's as clear as mud. But I have a physical copy I bought on E-bay for £18. So an extra £10 for this seems a pretty decent deal. We have not even played he game as I suspected an upgrade path would be available. I also got a copy of BOTW pretty cheap too. So as an online expansion pack member that upgrade is included.

Any news about loading times between areas? Those were a chore in PS4 ...
Supposedly the game has a seamless open world like the current gen versions

And I would assume any loading times would be faster regardless since the S2's memory clocks around 880~mps (based on the use of SD express) vs the ps4's 100mps hdd

No matter how pretty the game is it doesn't change the fact that is a boring game with no depth
Do you like the Harry Potter universe? as someone who read the books, and enjoyed the movies, I found it to be a delight. I had a lot of fun playing through it. The only trouble is that once I 100%ed it on PS5, I don't really have an urge to start it over again on Switch 2.

While it looks fantastic in comparison to the prior, Switch version, the dreadful "pop-in" emerges. Common guys that's got to be fixed. Work that magic
