Live the Unwritten in Thursday’s Hogwarts Legacy State of Play

Wands at the ready for an all new State of Play focused on Hogwarts Legacy, featuring an extended first look at gameplay this Thursday, March 17 at 2 PM PT

Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. Games are happy to partner with PlayStation to bring you a special edition of State of Play entirely dedicated to Hogwarts Legacy. The broadcast will begin this Thursday, March 17 at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET / 10 PM CET.

Since we first revealed Hogwarts Legacy, the trailer has been viewed over 28 million times on the PlayStation YouTube channel. We promised to share more this year, and we're finally ready to deliver on that promise.

The show will run for about 20 minutes, featuring over 14 minutes of Hogwarts Legacy gameplay captured on PS5, and concluding with some insight from a few members of the team at Avalanche Software who are bringing the Wizarding World to life.

Join us Thursday for this Hogwarts Legacy State of Play on Twitch or YouTube at 2 PM PT. Don't forget to head back here to the PlayStation.Blog afterward for a special post that will add a little more context to what we're about to show you.

This game looked really good two years ago, but after experiencing some cross gen games over the last couple of years, I dont have high hopes for this.

Also expect a massive downgrade. The physics stuff in the last trailer was too ambitious for last gen games.

Will tune in to watch era meltdown over a video game though.

I guess it is safe to assume Sony has all the marketing for this game then!
If this game turns out good and is received well I honestly believe this could be one of the biggest sellers, just from the 24 million views the last trailer has.

I'm not even a Harry Potter fan and I'm mad excited for this.
 
I have zero interest in Harry Potter. If it has cool gameplay I'll check it out down the line after some sales. The leaked footage looked neat way back.
 
It doesn't make a load of sense to call it STATE OF PLAY for a multiplatform game.

WB doesn't have enough faith in this to make their own event? Why would Sony pick up the slack for them?

I'm excited either way.

I think the biggest question is why in the fuck do we need a PLAYSTATION state of play for a MULTIPLATFORM game. This isnt even a timed exclusive like Deathloop and Ghostwire tokyo. This is a straight up Xbox game.

What's next? A fifa state of play? Far Cry state of play? Someone mentioned how 11 out of the 12 games shown at the Japanese state of play were coming to PC on day one.
 
Finally... finally a State of Play worth of watching. All States of Play were a total crap.

Praying Hogwarts to be a great game as well. Please, be good.

Jokes aside, the game looks amazing and I have little interest in the Harry Potter Universe.

It's a marketing partnership where WB is leveraging Sony's State of Play channel to get the information out. Marketing exclusives are very common.

Playstation has had marketing deals for several franchises. We never got dedicated State of Plays for CoD for example.

The difference is that this is a dedicated state of play for a multiplatform game. This isnt being showcased in a show with other games like it was back when it was first revealed in September.

People tune in to State of Plays for Playstation exclusives. This isnt that hard.
