Hogwarts Legacy State of Play Announced

I really hope this game is good. I've been growing more and more interested in a return to Hogwarts. Especially since these new movies have not been scratching my Harry Potter itch. Just give me some good coming of age stories and adventures at Hogwarts. That's all I ask. (and solid gameplay too)

Nah her takes on the whole issue are the dumbest shit. Stuff like saying women should be scared of trans rapists in bathrooms, and she wrote a book about a trans serial killer or something.

She is a militant feminist terf who think feminism should reign over all other ideology including trans people. Any of the anti woke people actively supporting her and thinking she is on their side, doesn't get that she hates you as much as she hates trans people if you don't have a vagina between your legs.

I still enjoy Harry Potter but she is as dumb as it gets.

The difference is that this is a dedicated state of play for a multiplatform game. This isnt being showcased in a show with other games like it was back when it was first revealed in September.

People tune in to State of Plays for Playstation exclusives. This isnt that hard.

Why on earth people should care if a game is or isn't an exclusive? People tune in to SOP to see games that are coming to PlayStation, the exclusivity of them is absolutely not necessary.
 
I hope it is great. The premise of going a full school year or more, exploring Hogwarts and surroundings with some evil lurking in the background that later becomes the main threat etc. sounds awesome.

Harry Potter movies came out at the right time for me. Same as the Fast and Furious franchise. From when I was 11 they have been a part of me growing up. Those two franchises are my Star Wars in the movie space, I shit you not. xD

Though I also obviously watched the prequels as a young teen in the theather and loved them back then. And still enjoy them today, despite obvious flaws. At least they had new shit, looking at you Disney era shite.
 
I've seen a HARRY POTTER (the first one) but there's something about this project that has me interested. Not sure why. Hopefully it's an actually good game that doesn't just tread on the IP.

Finally a good State of Play?!? Sony is all over the place with the branding of State of Plays. What is the difference between a State of Play and a Playstation Showcase? I thought I know, but now we're getting a State of Play dedicated to a highly anticipated AAA game. WTF is going on?!

I'm definitely watching this. This is still coming to Xbox and PC, right?

It's fine, I think it's something that will make a lot of sense down the road, in retrospect.

Harry Potter has such a massive audience, it's good optics to associate it with PS (unless your Era)

She's definitely a "terf" but I don't think she's particularly militant in her feminism. Nor is her position particularly fringe. If I remember correctly, she Rowling came from a pretty shit background so I don't feel like it is surprising that someone with her history would have issue with the definition of "woman" being so mutable (and potentially co-opted by former men, the same kind of men who she was abused by).

These, "She just HATES trans people" takes are just so low-effort.
 
I wonder what the gameplay loop is going to look like. I hope the game has a similar structure to the Persona games, where you have to decide how to spend your time each day.

When you have states that are currently taking "self identification" as a reason to transfer men who are NOT trans, but want the easy access to a woman's prison, and rapes are indeed taking place, then yes JK is right. Its not about real trans people, its about the woke mob using trans people and including anyone that wants to declare themselves trans get access to women's spaces even though they aint trans. That is a threat to girls and women. Sorry but you're completely wrong. The fact that she is getting backlash for stating biological sex is real should indicate to you that you're not dealing with a rational group of people. Sex based rights have been hard earned over the years, so I'm not shocked to see feminists fighting to retain them. She may be a raging feminist that is getting her karma, but she is right on these issues. Two things can be right at the same time.

Maybe if you are more clear on exactly what you are talking about and who you are referring too, this misunderstanding would not of happend. Its not clear that you referring to JK Rowling and I dont get the administrator joke.
 
At least I can freely talk about the game here. Its not the developers fault JK Rowling is a terf. Just like what they're doing with the movies, don't involve her with it.

I can see this but honestly, first showing at their showcase and now a dedicated SOP. I'm not convinced Sony do that for a few cosmetics.

Even if it's timed I could see something like the Arkham missions they did.

The issue isn't even really what JK Rowling's opinions are... she's just one person.

The issue is the way any dissenting opinion is treated.

I frankly don't give two shits one way or another about women vs trans, because I am straight, white, incredibly sexy man (and more seriously, it's a topic that's just too damned toxic to have anything to do with). What I do care about is the destruction of public discourse, and the way people are unable to accept or converse with anyone who holds a contrary opinion to them on divisive social subjects. For instance, calling Rowling a nazi terf cunt, and asking for her to be strung up.

I may or may not agree with what she thinks, but she has a right to say it without being threatened with personal violence, and without her entire life's work being cancelled by a lot of people too sensitive to have an adult conversation.

This is a multi-platform release, right? Seems odd Sony would be doing an entire State of Play for a multi-platform third-party game.
 
Glad to see we're getting gameplay showcased like this meaning this won't get delayed to 2023, but I will say it's a little odd that a SoP is being done by Sony for a multiplat game.

I get it and it is just a muddy area.
Everyone wants to focus on a certain part of the trans community, but they tend to try and ignore the other part ...the 45 year olds who smear on lipstick and panties and advertise on craigslist or backpage or whatever is out there these days just looking for hookups, or the ones that haunt porn theaters huffing and booths and walk up and down the streets.
But the same can be said about men and women too. It is a complicated situation.
