Hokuto no Ken (arcade) pics

Wicked, it looks like you can get Kenshiro to rip is shirt apart during a super move, just like in the show when he gets pissed. :D
 
Now this is a licensed fighter that I can get excited about! PS2 port + US release please.

It is close to the manga then, all the characters had some odd proportions like huge legs and arms with "normal" sized torsos and heads.

'k, that is so not a normal torso :p

I remember that females had decent proportions but males were like giant bodybuilders.

These screens mean little to me until I see the animation. If it's GG quality instead of SF3 quality I'll be annoyed.
 
I had a dream about a Fist of the North Star fighter years ago. This looks alot better than my dream.

edit: hm after seeing the videos I guess it's Arc Systems. The animation is very similiar to GGX...what a shame. :P
 
Man. You know when you're a kid with hopes and dreams (before all creativity and imagination you may have had is ripped from your mind by the cold, cruel world?) and you fall in love with a comic/anime/manga/whatever and try to imagine what the perfect game based on it would be?

This is it.

SOLD. I will buy whatever console this gets ported to.

Yeah...in fact, ALL of IGN's videos from the JAMMA show are a piece of shit(and are encoded at half the bitrate of their other vids). Dunno what's up with that.
 
Shit. I just saw Kenshiro shooting off Fireball. I mean... Although he does do it in one way or another, but I don't think it was needed... :( Why make Kenshiro as a Ryu/Ken copy? If it only has a DP or stuff like that... that would be really sad.

Awesome. If you watch the little screen in IGN's 4th video you can see Ken doing his super move where he bursts out of his shirt & jacket and goes apeshit.

If Jagi can use his shotgun, this could easily be the best game ever made.

If I'm not mistaken it was street fighter that copied tons of Hokuto moves. Didn't Kenshiro have those type moves in the NES and SNES games?

If you watch the 4th video you can see Jagi holding his gun to another characters face. It looks like it could be part of his special move or super.

Have you ever played that Psone game? It's a awesome brawler that follows the TV series very good. Only downfall is having to sit through the unskippable (untill you beat the game once) cut sceens.

It even uses pretty much all the music too.

You caught me red-handed no I haven't had a chance to play it. I've thought a few of the Hokuto games were decent fun but none of them had that visual and design polish that the series truly deserved imo. Until now.

Hatards piss off. The FotNS PS game was fun as hell! Sure it's not pretty, but god damn did it rock. Way better than that shitty Saturn choose your own adventure crappity crap crap.
