That's almost the *only* thing I remember from that movie.

There was some talk of a Trading Places sequel based off of that, but Don Ameche's dead and probably the other guy, too, by now.

Yeah that's one of those mark out moments... I loved that.

I like Coming to America but IMO

I remember years ago when I saw CTA for maybe the third or so time, and I finally realized who the bums he gave money to were. I was blown away......what a beautiful tie-in.

Both movies are absolute classics and must-sees. I'd buy the Trading Places DVD if it weren't for the fact that it's one of those movies I've seen a thousand +1 times. CTA, though, I need to get...

No, he's still alive, He's been kind of tainted though after the accident that killed Vic Morrow and two children during the segment he filmed for Twilight Zone: The Movie. He had to go to trial for Manslaughter and it destroyed his friendship with Steven Speilberg for (Landis) wanting to finish the movie after the accident.

He still did some movies afterwards though, Three Amigos , Spies like Us, Coming to America however was his last good film. (Unless you liked The Stupids, or Blues Brothers 2000)
