Anyone have experience throwing together some home design layouts using a software app? A buddy of mine suggested "3D Home Architect" even though he's never used it.

I was really hoping to be able to import a layout image of our house floorplan, let the software make it into a project for me, then allow me to modify the interior of the house/dimensions. Is this possible or is it a pipe dream and I have to create the house design from scratch and put in all my room sizes etc.
Anyone know about this?
