If you have a PS4, but prefer asymmetrical analog sticks like the ones you find on Xbox controllers, Hori recently released the Horipad4 FPS controller that could fit your needs.

The controller has a few interesting additional features on top of the sticks setup, including a dial to set the sensitivity of the analog sticks, a “target” button that lowers the sensitivity of the right stick considerably for precise aiming, and two additional programmable bumper buttons. It’s wired (connects via USB) and it’s also compatible with PS3.

Unfortunately the additional features are counterbalanced by a few missing features. There’s no touch pad, no headset connector and and no light bar (for some this might actually be a perk).

You can see a few pictures of the two available colors below. While the controller has been officially released only in Japan, it’s already delivered worldwide by several retailers (like PlayAsia) and it can also be found on ebay.

It's odd how Hori seem to have gone downhill whereas Mad Catz have gone the other way. Hori's shit in the SNES - GC era was god tier.

How is this a PS4 controller if it doesn't have the basic new features that a PS4 controller has?

It's like making a Wii remote without a motion sensor.

just looks like those asymmetrical DS3 controllers... doesn't seem to have a touch pad

granted doesn't have a lightbar either but you could live without it

No touchpad?
And no headset jack.

Who cares about that? I finally get a damn controller worth a damn for FPS. I'm all for it. Let me bind spot to select and it's good for BF4. Mmm... yes.

Both the DS4 and 720's pad are pretty awful after coming from the 360 pad. They both do things wrong.

I was gonna throw my money at the screen then I read:

... Da fuq? While I like the no light bar, how the fuck can you get away with no headset connector and no touch pad?

DS4 already proved it wasn't the placement of the sticks but the shitty quality of the Analog sticks on the DS3 that made it less intuitive to use.

Down hill? Hori still makes quality stuff.

Anyways, I'm buying it. Lets face it, I am never going to get used to the symettrical layout.

So no way to give us all the features of the PS4 controller with asymmetrical sticks, eh?

Can't you companies come up with a smaller touchpad or something...? I mean, the touchpad is kind of important for some games!

Guess it's up to you - but a lack of the touchpad means it'll be useless for the majority of the PS4 catalogue. Killzone for example would be impossible to play through.

more importantly, its the first PS4 controller that the PS4 is accepting wired inputs from thus giving the lowest input lag
the DS4 only sends via BT regardless of weather its connected to the PS4 or not

edit:
this controller works with Killzone however it cause a highly annoying bug due to no touchpad
heres a video showcasing that
