Hori introduces PS4 controller with asymmetrical sticks

Nice, I'm in the absolute minority in saying that I actually like it. While the DS4 is a large step up from the previous iterations, it still doesn't feel "perfect". No touchpad and mic is an absolute deterrent however...

Im much prefer the provided updated drivers for their fightsticks.

Madcatz too

greedy bastards. You can fuck off if you think im paying £150 for another fight stick.

The thing that always kills it for me with these is the wire. What is this 1999?

Actually I prefer wired. Never have to worry about charging and it doesn't honestly get in the way. That being said, no headset and touchpad is an instant deal-breaker.

So you know what happens if a game uses a touchpad for something important like lets say Infamous? This controller is pretty much useless.

Now that is one ugly controller. I never quite understood the appeal of assymetric sticks, but to each his own.

It looks like pure garbage.

If it was for the DS3 I might had consider it, but the DS4 is actually a very awesome controller, stick placement and all.

I believe it's from the ending of the Palestinian Chicken episode but I'm not 100% sure on that

edit: pretty sure I'm wrong thinking about it..

I believe you're right. That's what came to my mind immediately. Aren't there some people protesting outside and he's kind of in the middle since he loves the chicken?

Yup. The Palestinians that make good chicken and are great in bed versus the Jews.

I don't think there is a need for these controllers anymore IMO. I personally hated the DS3 but the wider grip and concave sticks are perfectly fine for gaming now. I've been going back and forth between the 360pad and DS4 and don't mind at all.

Never understood the fascination with the asymmetrical thumbsticks when our hands are symmetrical.

edit: wizard ^

If you hold a 360 controller and are playing FPS the most comfortable motion of your thumbs correspond to the movement assigned to each stick. Your left thumb just has to push up and your right thumb moves laterally to move the camera. On symetrical sticks your left thumb is sideways pushing up instead of vertical pushing up which is more natural.

It just looks to me like it was originally just a PS3 pad and they said, "sod it, lets just add a toggle to make it work with PS4" without bothering to add all the PS4 pads features.

Why only left? Why not both? If you love "natural position" Start praising nintendo

btw I think this thing is ugly and looks cheap and would use the DS4 any day over this. I just see why people would buy a PS controller with this stick layout.

Agreed. Still don't understand why Sony doesn't offer a model with asymmetrical sticks. Seems like it would spur controller sales and generate additional profits.

I wouldn't mind this controller. If it didn't look like something my dog barfed out. After eating black crayons.

I want the analog stick position, but I don't care for anything else this controllers offers/doesn't offer.
