Hori introduces PS4 controller with asymmetrical sticks

Who cares about that? I finally get a damn controller worth a damn for FPS. I'm all for it. Let me bind spot to select and it's good for BF4. Mmm... yes.

Both the DS4 and 720's pad are pretty awful after coming from the 360 pad. They both do things wrong.

Ive used all of them.. PS3, Ps4, 360, XB1, Wii U Tab, Wii U Pro... your opinion is only an opinion. The DS4 is fantastic (also an opinion)

I prefer asymertical stick layout (and inverted look, come at me haters.) But that controller looks like shit. The Dualshock 4 blows it away.

This x 1000.

Strangely reminded me of the RE2 controller which I had completely forgotten about until this moment:
They don't even look alike. What gives, brain. I suppose they're both hideous.

Edit: Apologies, didn't realise the sheer size of that image until now.
Just put quote tags around the image tags matey, it will make it a small pic until clicked then.

Like so.

Both features that a very limited amount of ps3 games utilize. For a majority of ps3 games, these omissions will not have any effect.
True. But make sure to look at the list of exceptions. Uncharted 1, Beyond, Flower, Heavy Rain and The Last of Us (flashlight) come to mind.

Yeah, i'm aware. Going to import one anyways, even if it's pretty limited for ps4 sake. Can't wait to have a decent asymmetrical stick for the ps3.

I bet Sony put the touchpad on the Ps4 controller so 3rd party companies will have a hard time getting the controllers on the market, same with the light bar. Sony needs to sell alot of these controllers, and they made it hard, so people will only have the official Ps4 controller as an option.

Don't understand the obsession with asymmetrical sticks. Does not feel right or good.

The only controller worth a damn for an FPS is a mouse and keyboard. DS4 is second.

every day since launch playing bf4 & cod...still flawless

Same. Not those games, but mine still hasn't chipped or deteriorated at all. The one at my Best Buy's PS4 kiosk is torn up though. They must've gotten a faulty one. The left stick is much more worn out than the other. Almost gone. Makes sense though since left stick is movement.

I used to think asymmetrical sticks were important to me, but then I tried the Dualshock 4.

I don't 'get' the asymmetrical stick obsession, but to be fair I ramble on about things I love that most gamers don't give two fucks about anymore like D-Pads and Digital triggers.

Nice, I'm in the absolute minority in saying that I actually like it. While the DS4 is a large step up from the previous iterations, it still doesn't feel "perfect". No touchpad and mic is an absolute deterrent however...

Nuckle bump.

I hope Power A announces a similar controller at E3.

Weird that they would just completely ignore the touchpad. What exactly is the purpose of this other than quickly shoving a product out to market to sell to Xbox refugees?

"Hori introduces a ...thing for the PS4. Its got asymmetrical sticks though if you're into that"

I feel sorry for the parents who buy this for their kids, because the ensuing screaming is bad for the ears.

Asymmetrical, the way God intended your hands to be. Third party peripheral makers are merely acting on His will, albeit poorly. The boomerang shape and protruding shoulder buttons looks worrying.

Man, why can't 3rd parties make a decent controller?

These things are always cheap and crappy. You really do get what you pay for.

The best PS3 controller wasn't even a Sony controller. It just worked via dinput even though it was made for PC.

God, the F710 made playing the PS3 a lot more enjoyable.

I'd probably buy it for FPS if I had a PS4. As for no lightbar, good. As for no Touchpad? Depends. Hasn't really been utilized and I feel it'll be an underused gimmick. Besides, how integral would it be to all the games? Can no one really not play a game without a Touchpad? I wonder what the triggers and sticks are like.

That looks like cheap shit. I guess you would need to feel it, but the DS4 is a pretty sweet controller, I have a hard time believing many people would prefer this to a DS4. I do understand people preferring the asymmetricalsticks, but now that they are farther apart on the DS4 than they were on the DS3, I find it just as enjoyable as a Xbone/360 controller

Looks not that bad, but so far have 3rd party controllers always disappointed me.

How about Sony releasing an alternate controller? I'd buy two

What's with the Analog button? Did they simply reuse a PS2 controller and rename Start and Select to match PS4 Share and Options?
