Horizon Forbidden West - Gameplay Trailer

One word JAWDROPPING !!!

I so love the lighting effect on Aloy. It makes her look CGI.

People are going to be surprised by how good this games looks come launch.

I mean jeez....look at the texture detail on her clothing. There's nothing else out there like it.

People stay doubting Sony first party prowess. Guerrilla is one of the best when it comes graphical quality.

The idea of playing an open world game full of fetch quests sounds boring however - no matter how pretty the graphics may or may not look.

All of Sony's first party games are the same nowadays.

This looks like a pretty fun game. This and God Of War will be my last purchases on my ps4 until I can find a ps5. Did Aloy get a makeover? She's looking less frumpy than before.

atleast try to be a little subtle with your trolling. " all sony games the same" is a dead giveaway and everyone here knows that one.

Looks boring.

I thought this at first, but I thought I would put my money where my mouth is an actually play the game, im about 3hrs in and the actor who plays the dad does not give a good first impression, really generic, but if u press on the story is making me want to continue, combat and movement is a high point, I dont know if the missions will be able to keep varried but we will see.

Visually this is a top notch cross gen game, but theres definitely room for guerilla to progress in the visual department.

My main hope for FW is that guerilla go more in the direction of simulation , and more variety in the missions, combat is good but there needs to other activities besides fetch quests and other A -B tasks.

Even if the models are not a gigantic jump from the previous game, they look extremely...solid for lack of better words, especially aloy and the human enemies.

They look BIG, like they have a strong presence.

Who can understand what i'm trying to say?

Maybe its the hero light or the camera zooming, i don't know...
More geometric density...

Did they ever show whether the climbing mechanics have changed for Forbidden West? It's time we moved on from Uncharted-Style designated climbing spots in open world games.

A certain group is currently on a retaliation come back tour and they must overhyped and downplay what they see fit.
I dont think that was their intention. But at the same time who cares if one person thinks that, no reason to dog pile. If they are trolling ignore and move on, getting annoyed on behalf of playstation isnt doing them any favors.

on to the topic at hand, horizon continues to look great i had a few issues with the first game, mostly how little aloy was able to interact with the enviroment, or how little it reacted to her ( a cpu problem im sure ), hope thats better in this title

Right.... Demon's Souls, Sackboy, Spider-Man, Ratchet and Clank, Returnal, Destruction All-Stars... all look and play the same. The same car destroying, bullet hell, superhero, action-platformer-soullike game. So little diversity.

Don't mind me - I've got an axe to grind against open world games. Full of filler content to waste time. You spend 50% of playing time transversing as opposed to doing something meaningful.

I am looking forward to GOW Ragnarok but I feel the open world design just pure sucks. I found the previous god of war games much more memorable; they had much more varied environments and epic bosses.

Eh different strokes I guess. A lot of people enjoy the open world, I thought HZD did a good job of tying the main story into the open world but other games (Assassin's creed Valhalla) just can't seem to do that. In Horizon there are collectibles for power cells, metal flowers, and vantage points. I didn't collect these for the sake of collecting, it was because each of them gave pieces of the story leading up to Zero Dawn and info about Aloy's mother. The main story and the world-building are unreal with the first game.

All of Sony's first party games are the same nowadays.
Oh nvm... I thought you were actually being serious. Didn;t realise the last guardian & concrete genie were the same

I bet you love Halo Infinite right?

Have you even played HZD?

It looks like they put two millions hours into intricate enemy design but the most effective way to kill them will just be aoe explodey weapons again

Just no eta for the PC release right? I don't want to wait two years
They just bought nixxes. You won't be waiting two years. Maybe a few months or a year at max.

Herman hurst recently said that ps5 wills will be the best place to play exclusive at launch. So its entirely possible it comes out in three months. Or whatever period they deem acceptable for ps fans. He had also mentioned how they looked at the backlash or lack thereof when they first ported a first party exclusive to pc and since they didn't see one they decided on porting more exclusives.

Nixes wasn't bought to make console ports. If it was we would've received bloodborne, drive club and other ps5 ports already. Its a PC porting house for Sony.

So sony is gonna pay for 1-2+ exclusivity for 3rd party games like final fantasy 7 and 16 and release 1st party games mere months later? Lol

The trailer was weird by labeling gameplay trailer. Its heavily cinematic trailer with ingame models.

However the reason i like this game a lot over other games is that it actually pushes colors forwards. Something many games seem to lack these days.

Did the first game have gameplay this fluid and action packed? That's what impresses me the most, it just looks fun to play. Trigger warning: it reminds me a lot of Breath of the Wild gameplay.

Don't take this seriously:

Demon's Soul's gameplay is from 2009 and he said nowadays
Sackboy is from Sumo Digital and he said first party
Destruction All-Stars is from Lucid Games and he said first party
Returnal was made before Housemarque became first party
Spider-Man was made before Insomniac became first party

2022 sounds crazy already, this, Elden Ring, GT7,gowR, suicide squade, plague tales 2, to name just those. It's looking super neat to say the least.

I liked everything about the first game except playing it... I gotta replay it with 60fps finally.

My main issue with first game was the lack the overall feeling, not even feeling the weight of Aloy, it's like I'm controlling not a girl but a feather or something that is less than 5 grammes (those who played probably will get what I mean). Hopefully this got fixed in FW.

Don't worry they added a lot of weight to Aloy.

If you dont have anything constructive to add (IE WHY it looks boring is a START). Then just dont post in the thread.
I understand the first one was boring...
But the sequel has a giant fucking mecha snake. How can anyone say that is boring !?

Now dont you take this the wrong way...:pie_smirking:

Demon Souls gameplay is no different than the recently released Dark Souls gameplay.
SackBoy is a first party game, published by Sony, correct? They might not own the Devs, but they own the IP, which still makes it first party.
Same as above.
Isnt that how a lot of acquisitions go? A publisher sees their body of work before they make a purchase.
Technically you're right, but it was Sony who approved of Insomiac making Spiderman before they purchased them. Spiderman would have been a Sony first party game whether if it was made by Insomiac or another studio, but they chose Insomiac due to their close relationship.

As far as i know you have to own the dev that makes the game AND publish it to make it first party. Otherwise it's a third party exclusive. Maybe i'm wrong, but like i said, it was more kind of a joke anyways.

Seems like somebody doesn't know what first party means.
