Looking through the thread, consensus is that The Devil's Candy was pretty good? Thinking of adding it to my October list.
I always thought it was a 2016 release so I keep leaving it off my best of list for this year, but it's def one of my faves. Get Out is the only horror/thriller I'd put above it so far this year.
Just finished The Houses October Built 2, I liked it.
Not as good as the first, a bit different.
But I love haunts, I love the events so it is right up my alley.

Anyone know where I could find a version of Cannibal Holocaust with the animal deaths cut out? Apparently this version exists, but is hard to find and I'd like to watch it for the October challenge this year.
I'm going to assume you've seen [REC]
Thanks to this awesome thread, I have the following movies to watch:
- The Monster Project
- Hell House LLC
- The Eyes of My Mother
- Southbound
- Here Alone
- Evolution
- Beyond the Gates
- Raw
- The Devil's Candy
- The Houses October Built
- Nocturnal Animals
For those that have already seen one or more of them, what is your opinion? Would you recommend?
Also, I'm really a sucker for found-footage horror flicks. Movies like Lake Mungo, Grave Encounters, As Above, So Below are right up my alley. Any more recommendations in that regard?
These are both great.Really enjoyed The Devil's Candy. Good performances, high tension throughout, and just an overall solid film.
As for found footage films, have you seen a movie called Creep?
Ya the 2nd Friday of the month. Unless you mean a movie, then I have no idea.Is there still a friday the 13th coming this month?
I bought the new Night of the Living Dead Blu Ray, and this is the absolute worst transfer I have ever seen of the film. Exposure is ridiculously high and it looks dirtier than some cheap DVD version I used to have. The film is on youtube and that looks 100x better than this shit. Waste of nine bucks.

In celebration of Friday the 13th, we're having another couple over tonight to watch a scary movie. However....we really don't watch much modern horror, so we are all clueless what to try. We are looking for anything from last 5-10 years that is legit scary and or creepy. The last movie I watched that I loved was The Witch, but we are looking for something none of us have seen....which is a lot.
Help me, GAF! If I can't find a good one, I am resorting to Killer Klowns from Outer Space just for the fuck of it.
How is the movie Dagon? Was in the mood for something HP Lovecraft related.
I really enjoyed We Are Still Here.Horror-GAF!
Any recommendations on good haunted house movies? Ideally something from the last ten years as there is a good chance I won't have seen it.
Someone in group wants to watch The Houses October Built. Kind of looks not great...anyone watched it?

I really enjoyed We Are Still Here.
I am planning a rewatch of The Baby's Room because I remember enjoying it but can't remember what happens.
Haunted Mansion is also on my to-watch list:
