Hottest Pepper in the World?!

Never really got into the super hot peppers. I had ghost peppers once and wasn't impressed. It just burned a lot and that was it. Probably the hottest thing I could actually withstand, these others are just crazy and essentially useless IMO. Not to mention dangerous.

I use Franks RedHot sauce on a lot of stuff, I find it's just hot enough to give you a little warmth without drowning out the taste of whatever you are using it on. I also use jalapeños and banana peppers on a lot of stuff as well.

I'll be honest, if you still taste Jalapenos and Franks Red Hot as spicy but didn't have much trouble with a ghost pepper you either have a VERY odd pallet or it wasn't a ghost pepper. That stuff can be suffocating almost.

I've finally worked my way up to being able to enjoy some less spicy varieties of scorpion peppers without dieing and I can no longer tell if a lot of the normal "spicy" things are even spicy or not. You actually start to taste the flavours behind the peppers, and they can be really nice. Then again, maybe I'm just killing the nerves lol.

Still though, ghost peppers push me to swish with milk for a few minutes, they are pretty bad in any decent concentration. Great if you chop it up and throw it in a soup though.

This reminds me, I need to finish all the Habanero Sculpin in my fridge.

Strongest I've had are ghost peppers and the effect can be very enjoyable. It's kinda felt a bit like taking a Norco once the mental chemicals fired off. If you don't have digestive issues you won't feel a burn from shitting. People always blow that stuff way out of proportion.

Tried a extract at a pepper store at the mall last week which contained carolina reaper pepper along with the #2 and #3 hottest peppers. It wasnt as bad as I expected but the taste was horrible though.

The actual peppers taste great. I had a sliver of a ghost pepper a couple years ago and before the heat hit, it was just a delightful fruity tasting pepper.

I had some carolina reaper bbq sauce they had and it tasted amazing. Definitely plan to pick a bottle up next time I go.

Same here but with scorpion moruga.

Only a few seconds of good taste before the heat and pain

BTW milk does help, it has casein, which is amphiphilic (meaning one end is polar/likes water and the other is non-polar/likes oil). This causes a detergent effect, pulling the capsiacin away from your receptors. beer has a smaller but similar effect.

You can get serious gastroenteritis from eating too much too fast, just fyi.
