How bad is your handwriting?

My handwriting is so garbage, we use handwriting to fill out paperwork sometimes and I literally warn people if they have to read my shit.

I have to look closely sometimes and see what I just wrote because I can't understand it sometimes lol I gave up long ago.
A number three, I can't tell apart from a number seven sometimes. like wtf
Hows yours?

Yeah, I used to get complimented often in grade school for my cursive, but by high school, everything was becoming digital. Mostly used PC after college, and for the past years at work, it's always some type of handheld device or again PC. My handwriting is terrible now. When I add things to a shopping list, my wife will often message me a pic of something I added, asking me to translate it for her.

Back in 4th or 5th grade, a teacher gave us a writing homework. The next week he called me to his desk and asked me to read my piece to him, but I struggled because I couldn't read my own shitty handwriting.

A week or so later, my ant-sized brain realized that he called me because the homework was about a story of a man whose handwriting was illegible. That sneaky teacher.

Not great, not terrible.
How about we show some examples? I’ll start.

Awful. At some point early on in school, one of my teachers told me to just stop writing cursive. It wasn't working. I basically have been printing block letters, all caps, ever since.

Oddly enough, I had been recently thinking about giving cursive another shot to see if it'll stick. It would be cool as hell to have slick handwriting. I can draw pretty well so I'm thinking maybe it might take, but apparently there's no correlation between handwriting and drawing ability.

depends. my hand writing changes all the time lol. some times i will write neat and tidy but sometimes it's a scribbled mess. i've had some people say i have good handwriting so i don't know. when i was a kid i loved writing and would spend hours doing joined up writing and copying chinese/japanese or arabic writing even though i didn't know what any of it meant. i don't practice my hand writing. years ago i used to write journals/notes but don't bother anymore. smartphones have taken away a lot of reason to write anything anymore.

i'll need to go find some paper to write an example if that's what we're doing...

Not pretty but legible. My cursive handwriting though has gone downhill to the point that my "signature" is just a bunch of scribbles.

terrible. my younger daughter is learning to write beautifully and already surpases mine.

I also use a computer or phone so I can actually type faster than I can write and over the years my handwritting has deterioated further

I have found that people seem proud of having horrible handwriting which is just bizarre to me. Like why would people discuss having incomprehensible communication skills with anything but total shame.

My problem is that I think quicker than I write. Therefore I rush my hand to keep up with my head. That’s why I like to type, it’s quicker and it works great with my brain.

exactly this, all my fingers and thumbs are able to create words. it would be like if I had ten small pens or pencils strapped to each digit.
which would come out insanely terrible

Do anybody else here unintentionally write in the cursive style? Because you can't be bothered to lift the pen off the page inbetween letters?

Bad as hell.

Could write beautiful back in the day, but because of blind typing on keyboards its basically a massive issue now. Really got to think about it before even writing and even then its gibrish at times.

I work as an operations manager for one of the larger Westcoast EV companies and sometimes scribble notes into an old calendar before throwing them into Office docs. So...saw this one and I can't really read it. I'd say my handwriting should stay unpublished...

I can't write cursive... so I print them all. Still pretty bad.

My mom used tell me that my writing looks like bunch of earth warms.

I type so fast that I get frustrated easily when I'm writing. It sucks because even when I need to fill out a small form or something like raffle tickets I end up writing so badly I'm pretty sure nobody can read it.

Mine is terrible now, i don't write much nowaday;s, i can barely read it, so no one else has a hope in hell of understanding it.

Moving continents, a number of times growing up I went from print to cursive and back twice. It really messed with my handwriting, then a life of IT means I hardly ever write anything down. It's legible and clean enough but has zero style and kerning/sizing issues because I don't take care. I hate handwriting really.

Has been abysmal since college.

One of my teachers was hovering over me in the middle of an exam and straight up told me it's bad.

Don't care much anymore, don't have to write more then a few sentences nowadays.

Mine is easy to read but looks like ass. Kind of like 80. on that pic by Maiden Voyage, but written by a 6 year old.

Absolutely horrible, always was. I'm not able to understand what I wrote actually. Now when filling papers I write using only capital letters and it's still shit ;)
