I'd skip it and get an iPod, Archos or iRiver. Or a CD player that can read burned CD-Rs full of MP3s.

$30 one sucks, get the $400 one (or $whatever for the iRiver)? I'm looking for cheap mp3 players, not a second harddrive.

But anyways, thanks for the reviews. This convinced me to not buy online. Returning it would be too much of a hassle.

mp3 CD players are a good alternative.

you can get an iRiver one for around 70 bucks Canadian.

Another mp3 cd player I recommend is the SL-CT 710/810 from Panasonic. My sister's has 200 hours of battery life. (Well 130 without the battery pack).
