It made me quit mobile gaming.
I was a long time mobile gamer. College life was kinda hard, and my phone was my distraction between classes. Used to play mobile games alot, to a point, where it was harmful for my mental. I was getting restless, checking my phone constantly, and spending 20$-40$ a week on mobile games. I was in consistent depression. I kinda hated my life back then.
The lockdown was horrible. I managed to spend up to $1k on my mobile games. Until I got fed up with one of the updates from the game. Sold my account, and bough My pc gaming, X1.
Before that, I had a pc. I moved from the house, and bought a laptop. That is when my mobile gaming addiction started. Due to unfortunate Incident in the family, I quit playing on my latop, which made gaming on phone alot worst.
I bought a ps4 for my brother. Played a few times. But not enough to defeat my mobile gaming addiction.
Then this happened.
Youtube and reddit was going for it. The dim light of my OG xbox/PC game time, kicked in. Sold my mobile game account, bought x1s and PC gaming. Fast forward February. My little brother was looking for PS5. I got him one, and took my PS4 from him.
Bought tons of sony exclusive and enjoyed them.
Believe it or not, Playstation exclusive is my 1st party games, which I bought and played alot. Only Xbox game which I played few times is forza4. Halo was ok, but not my style. Sea of thieves lost me. I used my gamepass for 3rd party games. Played alot of good 3rd party games from it.
I went back to my old mobile game. Saw the game and packages, and ran away. I was stupid to play a game, which had $29.99, $49.99, $99.99 as game packages. Everything was too p2w.
I am glad video games saved me from that fate. If my interest in video games havent been awoken again, I would have been a mobile gamer, and wasting my life through depression. Now I am more happy. I love soccer now. I dont waste my time on reddit or twitter. My health is in good condition. Video games, truly makes you happy.
