This is pissing me off--I want playlists to stay associated with winamp (because itunes doesn't agree with college alarm clock), but iTunes keeps reassigning the file association to itself.

Where the heck's the setting to disable this?

Control Panel -> Folder Options -> File Types -> search for MP3s, change it. If that doesn't work then I can't help you until I get home and fuck around with iTunes.

Tried that, then found a setting called "make itunes the default."
