How do I play a .divx file?

I have GDIVX player, DIVX player and Windows Media Player, yet none of them seem to work!

They all show the stats of the film (i.e. running length), but they won't play it?

Is it because they need a long time to load it?

Do I need a certain codec? This is the first video that I can't seem to play, I thought I had every essential codec that I needed (I have quite a few)?

What could be wrong?

Try uninstalling EVERY codec you can find, then re-install just divx 5

And try "Media Player Classic" as well.

****, my Media Player Classic doesn't work either.

And what if I uninstall every codec and it still doesn't work? Damnit!

Edit-

I GOT IT WORKING IN BSPLAYER...... except-

It's very choppy. But I can probably mess with the framerate in options, right?

Edit 2 - Damn, it's still skipping. Anything I can do to fix the performance? I'm on a crappy PC (450 mhz, 128mb RAM), but I've never had problems with DIVX movies before in the framerate department.

Edit 3- Ok, nevermind, I got it perfect. Thanks for the help everyone :)

BSPlayer > * but I can see that you really need to upgrade ur comp. I guess your best bet (if everything else doesn't work) is to convert that divx file to mpg.
