How do you deal with a job / coworkers when you're apathetic?

I've gone from working in jobs where my skills were integral and output was relatively fulfilling to working at a company where the department I'm within is treated as an afterthought in the grand scheme of the company. Inside and outside my department, very few really care or understand how to use or manage my department. And then of course the fact that I can't really stand anyone here either.

How do you handle similar scenarios?

Keep your head down do what you need to do work wise. . Yeah but if you can fulfil yourself elsewhere, watch YouTube or listen to podcasts. Do your job make sure you can leave work at the finish of your shift and not have anyone call you up on it. Given the pandemic situation count yourself lucky you are still working.

also any people you get on well with at work. Just chill with them when/if you can.

Mind my time, do what I’m asked to do.

What I want to do coworkers

It's a job. You do it for the money. Go to work, do what you need to. If you don't have a dream job in mind for what you want to do, do the job you have to do to get paid.

Do your job well, because that will keep you from getting fired and keep you getting paid. Keep doing it well and work on doing things you see that need to be done. Eventually, you will hopefully be promoted and be paid more because you are doing your job well. The company doesn't care if you are happy about being at work, they care about what you can offer them. Don't bring others in on your misery or the company may think you will hurt overall morale and production.

I dont bother with coworkers. I just keep to myself unless we're socializing. Dont ask for help and dont offer it. I make them laugh and keep my ish on lock so people enjoy me.

I'm pretty apathetic and indifferent about people and life in general, not just work.

I find it makes life interesting to live like you're simply playing a role in some cosmic shit show. I'll try on different personas to see how each would approach various situations or simply to see how different people react.

At work specifically, show up early, do your job, and don't take work home with you, literally or mentally. I tend to go a bit above and beyond what's expected, but I also like to leave little reminders around so if anyone checks up on me they'll see I'm doing more than just punching the clock and collecting a paycheck. Also fun to document how many times the company or coworkers fuck things up, just in case you ever need evidence for some reason.

Simple. I found a job where I work alone.

On the job I always go with the flow. Very introspective so nobody can really fuck with me, I’m always thinking and trying to solve problems. If coworkers start to act like bitches that’s on them, not on you

You should rise up and overtake your supervisors. Nothing says lily livered coward than a bullshit autocrat with no power.
