Love Big Macs, but way too much lettuce. Half of it falls out because they shave it into bits and pieces instead once or two nice big pieces. Iceberg lettuce is bottom of the barrel too. McD's could save millions of dollars if they cut the amount of lettuce in their burgers by half. Nobody would even care.

Let me be clear on this: A real burger DOES NOT have a garden salad on top of it!
It's supposed to only be, meat - cheese - sauce, that's it.

Tomatoes are the worst on a burger. Slimy and watery, I cannot stand them at all.
Agreed.
But for whatever reason, I love tomatoes on a BLT sandwich. So good.

I really don’t want lettuce on a burger.

I also don’t eat the Big Mac because no need for the bun and thousand island. I have however made a couple thousand Big Macs due to my McDonald’s job.

I always swear to never, ever go to Mcdonald's every time I go there.
I have kids, so at least once a year, I'm like, "It has to be better than last time."
Nope, it is always worse. The only thing that changes with its decreased quality is an increase in price and my shame of making the same mistake over and over again.

Full disclosure I hate McDonald's and I have a dysfunctional relationship with McDonald's. I always tell myself I'll never go back but then I go back hoping it'll be better but it's just as shit as ever, that and it's close to work so...

I'm not sure when was the last time I had a Big Mac. Maybe a couple decades ago?
But remembering what I had - I didn't mind much. It's just the fact that I'm not sure if those lettuce were washed thoroughly or clean.
I tend to refrain eating raw veggies/salad at fast food restaurants - or outside in general.
I know they probably did disinfect it pretty well to avoid any lawsuits - but what kind of chemical they used or any residue, even if it's supposedly not harmful to the body is something that I'm little worried.

The lettuce is fucking awesome yo.

This might be what finally breaks this forum. I will fight with my fists for that Big Mac lettuce.

McDonald's is just brainless junk food. Nothing wrong with it per se but it's fucked up when people treat it like a main meal or the weekend entertainment for their family. I feel the same when I see Costco rammed on a weekend with families who treat it like their day out. Sad.

Anyway all the lettuce falls out so it doesn't matter.

lol even their fries are trash nowadays. they are dry and definitely not as juicy and tasty as they used to be.

I still have their fillet-o-fish and quarter pounder with cheese every now and then when i have bought enough happy meals to earn a free burger. they are ok but the quality of the bun is a crap shoot, and their big mac always makes me regret ordering it.

For some reason shredding the lettuce makes it taste worse.

thats because it absorbs all the big mac sauce which is basically what makes big mac taste so great in the first place. with the sauce now half gone, the burger no longer tastes like it should.

Lettuce is the last thing I want on a burger, if I want a crunch in my burger it will be from either bacon, jalapeños, or good dill pickles, in that order.

Yep. i put onions in there but not grilled onions because they are mushy and fuck with the juicy meat texture.

I mostly eat smash burgers now but tbh, lettuce, pickes, tomatoes all ruin the simplicity of the cheeseburger. just put a slice of processed american cheese in the middle of two beef patties and a cheap plain bun and enjoy the damn burger with some ketchup on the side. people are making it too complicated.

Love iceburg lettuce. Haven’t had a Big Mac in 20 years but I know there is never enough lettuce on fast food burgers.

Lettuce isn’t the issue with the Big Mac. It’s the patty that’s at best mid as hell. And honestly I feel in the past few years the buns have really gone down in quality on the Big Mac. If I have to go to McDonalds then I’ll just get a Quarter Pounder or the two cheeseburger deal, but really just about every fast food chain has a better burger available (except for Sonic, their burgers are just bad).

And yes, lettuce and all the works belong on a burger. I remember when I was young and stupid and always got cheeseburgers plain. Then during my lunch break at my job in senior year of high school, my co-worker got my order wrong when he did a food run for us and my burger had everything on it, and there was no time to get it fixed, so I just ate it with everything on it. Then I realized what I had been missing out on and stopped being a basic bitch when it came to burgers.

The got to bring back the Grand Big Mac. Definitely bigger than the regular one. They seemed to disappear during covid. I think I had them in 2019 when they were constantly promoting them for $3. I guess they bombed hard on promo it's not worth keeping on the menu permanently.

I think the massive amounts of lettuce is part of the appeal. Any less and it wouldn’t be a Big Mac. The last one I had was mostly lettuce and bun. Very little meat. Would never order again. The dressing on it is the bomb though.

No doubt. Love the dressing. Funny thing is without that orange slop, Big Macs are the driest burgers on Earth! But add it on and you can practically swallow a mouthful without chewing. lol
