Kind of a silly question but a while ago, some people here posted Google searches that went back the 1980s that would let you see what people back then were talking about in terms of games/music/movies, etc.

Can anyone help me out here?

Course, you need to know the address or what was on there before... so I'm guessing everyone you've seen who looked up old stuff used to go to those places.

Also, google's cache thing works pretty well too.

I think he means google groups, which searches usenet going back to the days before the web.

They bought the data from dejanews about 4 years ago, and I think it wasn't that long after that groups came online.
