How does Party City still exist?

Is it really just Halloween shopping? It just seems like such a weird store to be thriving in every city I've lived in for like 15 years. There's always a Party City and I never get why them and Radio Shack have dodged the graveyard to this day.

I used to wonder as well. Then my sister had two kids. There seems to be a birthday party in suburbia every weekend among her friend's kids and kids at the kindergarten and kids in the neighbourhood.

They have an awesome selection of Rams tailgate stuff. I spend a nice sum of money there every fall buying Rams logo napkins, plates etc. Definitely adds to the festive atmosphere.

I went there for the first time last month, and it was incredible. Whatever type of party you wanna have, they've got you covered. I wasn't planning on doing a luau/tiki themed party until I walked in there, but seeing all that stuff really does put you in the mood to party.

I also got a leprechaun beard and hat for like $3.

The stationary/party/etc types of stores do huge business, more during the holidays, but definitely year round. I used to work for Oriental Trading Company and people would kill each other to get their hands on some of the wall wraps if they could.

Lived in a town of 14000 that had one...now I know it was a college town, but it wasn't a huge college town. Just a larger community college town.

And somehow that place is still open.

My wife is a teacher. She is there with some routine always needing some crap for student rewards. Standing in the store, I always wondered how they made their money - then I saw the line for Mylar Balloons.

Also ____________ showers, graduations, confirmations, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, etc.
