I have been wanting to try one of these online DVD rental things for awhile now and I see Blockbuster has a free 2 week trial and then its $14.99 a month after that. Seems like a pretty good deal and is cheaper then Netflix. Anyone use Blockbuster for online movie rentals and is it any good? Do the movies come pretty fast?

Yes, I tried them to compare to my current Netflix service.

Blockbuster was later in receiving and sending out videos. Also, the selection of the more obscure titles left a lot to be desired. And even the new releases which I thought would surely be in supply had waiting periods longer than the trial. In two weeks, I was able to rent 6 videos. And only because Blockbuster lets you have videos out 10 days after the two week trial ends.

The monthly coupons for two free in-store rentals, either movies or games, was nice. And the price is better than Netflix. I feel you get what you pay for, though...

At the end of the trial, I stuck with Netflix.

I guess I may as well of least try out the free trial and see how it is. Then I can try the Netflix one to if I dont like it :D

I've never tried Netflix, so I have no idea how that is. But I've been pretty happy with Blockbuster Online, especially as of late. They've been shipping quicker and quicker as time has gone on.. and it's a great price, so.. ~shrugs~

I like blockbuster alot. You get 2 free instore rentals per month which you can use for videogames - which pay for themselves as games are now 6.99 per rental. Two games pays for your $14.99 .

and the movies have been shipping faster for me as of late also.

Supposedly they are going to start shipping from stores near the area of the subscriber, and move away from the warehouse hub shipping method. That would decrease the shipping times dramtically.

Yeah I just got an email last week from them saying that they have opened a new shipping center near my area. I've been pretty happy with them. I do have a quandry though;

I rented the Superman:TAS set and they didn't send me all the disks. They just sent me disc 1. I put disc 1 in the mail today, so I'm curious to see if they are going to send me disc 2 even though they moved the entire dvd set into my shipped items list.
