How is the LG G4?

I loved this phone (though by now it's a bit dated), but as everyone is saying keep in mind bootlooping is inevitable - a "when" and not "if" problem with the phone.

For bonus points, mine bootlooped while I was in an unfamiliar city and was relying on phone for GPS.

I love the phone. But there is the bootloop issue. Therefore as a new buyer i hesitate to recommend it although the rest is great.

Edit: also no fingerprint scanner so go with a Oneplus 3T instead.

Had mine for almost a year then it went into a boot loop and had to get a replacement.
Double tap on the screen to turn it on or off in nice.
Good camera and display but so so speaker.
I can tell this replacement won't last long as I get intermittent freeze ups.
I think I might trade it in for a S8.

About a dozen other phones, including the budget Moto G5 Plus (which also has more RAM, better build quality, greater battery life, better cellular support, a fingerprint scanner, and better software support than the LG G4).

I think I'll buy the G5 Plus and I was impressed using it in store the other day, but I've looked at a lot of camera comparisons and the camera does not match up. It's great for that price range, and the sensor in it is high end, but without optical image stabilization and lesser processing I wouldn't say it's on par as flagships from the past couple of years in quality.

How's the Moto G4 Plus (the 16GB model)? Found it for really cheap (900 TL, $225 by current exchange rate) as far as a phone gets. Any big drawbacks besides the plastic body and nonremovable battery?

LG G2 a few years ago had a phatom touch issue, then subsequently started bootlooping. Pretty much anything that has LG stamped on the back of it has the stigma of bootlooping shortly after the product is fairly new, including most recently the Nexus 5X.

Avoid.

I got the G4 since its release, no boot loop yet. I'm pretty happy with the phone so far: great battery life, super fast charging, great screen, excellent DAC. Their launcher never bothered me and I only replaced it with Nova because of more customization options. The LG build of android is rock solid with insane uptime, I've rebooted my phone only like 5 times since I bought it. The only thing, that really bothers me is the lack of security updates. My G4 is unbranded, off-contract and I've only received 3 OS updates from LG so far. Is my next phone going to be from LG? Not sure, I'm leaning more Motorola at the moment.

I have an LG V20 and I'm very worried about the boot loop issue. How can the same problem persist with so many phones after all these years? I read something about cheap soldering to the mother board being a possible culprit?
