90% of my subscriptions are on special deal rates, think HBOmax and Amazon are the only ones I pay full for. Going 1 or two months free is just a pain though.

Spotify sells gift cards on Amazon: 12 months of Premium for $99. This is much cheaper than paying per month. If you use Spotify as much as I do, this is the best deal for it (unless you get comp swag as a celebrity).

Both the desktop and mobile clients are buggy/slow Chrome-based slop, which is annoying when they had near perfect native clients that ran well until they rewrote them, because everything had to be done in a browser. The only selling point for Spotify now is the ability to cast to my AVR.
Even worse is if you try to use it in splitview on Android, and the album arts just cuts into the playback controls meaning you cannot quickly change the song or pause.

I listen to my playlists. Some are almost 100h long. I also listen to some of the free audiobooks offered. They charge too much for paid audiobooks, so I found some cheap Audible coupon codes and downloaded all of Tom Clancy's portfolio. Am set for a few months. BTW, Jack Ryan Jr. is kinda lame, but I'm giving him a chance.

I guess this is the main reason people subscribe. I really don’t care, I have them wiped out each time, next time I subscribe I just browse a random plays list for piano or running and press play.

I dont have the time to binge watch a show so I don’t do too many free trials. Instead, I get the ad free version and spend a month recording everything I want to watch; then I cancel it and throw it up on Plex and enjoy it at my leisure over the next year.

I've been resetting the Sirius/XM trial in my car every 3 months so I can listen to Phlash Phelps in the morning. I would pay for it if I could get it for $2.99/month, but that deal wouldn't work for my car.
