How much are you spending on the PSP launch?

PSP - $250
Wipeout Pure - $40
Lumines - $40
EB extended warranty (1 year) - $25
------
Subtotal - $355
7% tax - $24.85
------
Total - $379.85

Depending on whether or not i can find some games to trade later today, i might come out a bit cheaper, or just decide to use the traded games for Ridge Racers.

i'll wait for Ape Escape, Metal Gear AC!D, and Twisted Metal to drop in price before i pick them up. Some UMD cases would be nice, but until i find something really slick, MD cases do the job well enough.

My original plans were to get a case and screen protector, but i'll have to pass until i get some more money in. Car insurance, PO box fee, and some light car repairs all hit this week. :( i don't have a major need for a MS Duo at the moment, so i'll probably wait for the 2GB sticks to be released before picking up a then cheaper 1GB stick.

PSP
Lumines
RR
MGA
1GB Mem Stick Pro Duo $143
Gamecrazy warranty $20
Exim screen protector $21

PSP + games + tax = $398.63 + mem stick + warranty + screen protector = $582.63

I will probably use the Eb games deal to get Wipeout and Darkstalkers(not part of the deal but there are ways to get around that).

Does the extended warranty cover dead pixels?
It's not explicitly stated, though it could be argued that it's part of mechanical failure due to defects in workmanship (abridged legalese). i guess it depends on who does the exchange. i'm not worried about pixels dying after the 14-day return period, though.

It should also be noted that the warranty is a one-time deal. Use it once, it's gone. i assume at that point you could get another warranty if you chose to do so.

A good Lawn Chair - $30.
Gas to mall - $10
Flavoured Popcorn - $2.50

Watching everyone scramble - priceless.

If it's anything like the Halo 2 launch, then I'm guaranteed some great entertainment. Especially that freaking huge lineup at EB. I should go throw tomatoes at them!

Not sur,e but EB are real bastards when using the extended warrenty. Awhile ago my under warrenty PS2 started getting DRE's and I went to get a new one, they asked me if I abused it, they heavily inspected the ps2, controller, wires for visible signs of damaged, and even asked me if I had the box, they eventually exchanged it. But I didn't like their attitude.

All totaled over $600.

Still left to buy:
PSP
warrenty
lumines
512 memory stick.

Heres a pic of the games I bought already.

PSP VP
Twisted Metal
Wipeout Pure
Metal Gear Acid
Need For Speed Underground Rivals

Waiting for reviews (8.0+ or favorable GAF impressions = buy):
Either of the baseball games
Tiger Woods Golf
Untold Legends

No longer re-buying in English (satisfied with JP version):
Ridge Racers
Lumines
Everybody's Golf
Dynasty Warriors

BTW, is NBA Street still coming out at launch?

PSP - $250
crappy games that I can trade-in using EB's 3 for 1 deal - $25

That $25 is allowing me to get Metal Gear Ac!d, Ridge Racers and Lumines of course.

Total = $275 for PSP and 3 games

Amazon PSP Bundle - 350
1 GB Memory Stick - 150
Darkstalkers - 40

MGAcid - 40
Ridge Racer - 40
Tiger Woods - 50
Untold Legends - 40

UMD Cases - 10
Screen Protectors - 30

Total - 820 + tax & stuff...

$330 before taxes. PSP+Lumines+Wipeout.

I'm totally risking it- no warrenty :0

Wish me luck.

--------
Subtotal: 370
+8.4% tax
--------
$401
+$6 CA disposal whatever tax
Wipeout Pure - Free

Not sure if I'll get the warranty from Bestbuy yet. Will be getting memory stick once I'm bored with the games.

PSP Value Pack
Ape Escape: On the Loose (got from the EB deal)
Lumines
Metal Gear Acid
Ridge Racer
Twisted Metal: Head-On (got from EB deal; had to pay around $20 to fully pay off, though)
Wipeout Pure (got from EB deal)

Probably nada. At the rates the games are being released, I'll have 2 more games before Thursday if I find AC!D at EB tomorrow. Twisted Metal Head On GAF Tournament ahoy!

Too much... Twisted Metal is what originally made me cave, but since then I've been planning to buy way too much software. It really is by far the best launch lineup ever, IMO.

Whatever I get for my DS+games combo on Ebay (please God, don't let it sell for $50...), plus anything off I can get by trading old games and broken wireless controllers, and the difference will come out of pocket. I might pick up Untold Legends and a screen protector, so I'm probably looking at spending ~$310 total

PSP value pack - 249
EB protection plan - 25
Aero Case - 15
Exim protector - 13
Sandisk 1 GB memstick - 127
Sony MDR-EX71SL Fontopia Earphone - 30
D-Link DWL-122 WiFi USB (for tunneling with xlink) - 22

Lumines - 40
Wipeout Pure - 40
Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade - 40
Ridge Racers - 40
Twisted Metal: Head On - 40

$717 usd after taxes

PSP x 2 = $500.00
Lumines = $39.95
Ridge Racer = $39.95
Wipeout Pure = $39.95
Sony 1GB MS = $177.00
Screen Face = $5.00

Total = apox. $800

So...how many of you are actually going to play the PSP on the go?
Not technically on the go but I'm known to always keep a PDA/handheld on me at all times. The PSP will probably alternate with the DS now when I hang out in between classes at school.

Hopefully a few of the guys there will buy a PSs so I can have fun in the student lounge instead of studying (have a four hour break in between two classes next quarter, sheesh).

I am, I live in NY and on the subway commute I'm always listening to my iPOD, and playing GBA, DS, and soon PSP. Of course I alternate systems and will have only 1 on me at any given time.

$0. :D Still waiting for some interesting titles to sell me on the hardware. I'm sure most people who are buying it at launch are probably getting it for multimedia purposes anyway.

I'm not going to add up how much I'm spending... It would be too depressing. But it's cheaper than those who paid $450+ for the imports, so it's all good.

Yes getting 5 titles = multimedia purposes

Games pushed me to get a PSP. Multimedia is just a bonus.

So I'm spending:

(2) 1GB Sandisk Memory Stick Pro Duos - $156.99 and $118.99 respectively (already purchased and received)
Sony PSP - $249.99
Wipeout Pure - $39.99 (received)
Ridge Racer - $39.99
Lumines - $39.99
Mercury - $49.99 (guess this isn't gonna make it for launch, though...)
Twisted Metal: Head-On - $18.99 (took advantage of trade-in deal by buying cheap games and trading them)
Screen Protector - $7.99
Spare Battery - $39.99

Sub-Total: $762.90
Sales Tax: 6%

Grand Total: $808.67

Wipeout + Lumines = $72 + PSP = 322 + 512mb Memory stick = $389

Well I was anticipation about $400, but I might splurge for that DWPSP bundle. Thats about $475 now.

Originally I had planned on the system and just 3, MAYBE 4 games... Now it is very possible that I will be leaving a Gamestop with around 6-8.

I blame this stupid forum. But seriously, this launch is uncanny.

Oh and that is less the 1gb mem stick, screen protector, and God of War already purchased.

PSP - $262.49
Lumines - $41.99
Twisted Metal - $41.99
Extended Warranty - $25.00

= $371.47

I already have a 1GB MS Pro Duo and Martin Fields Overlay Plus. Hopefully I can find a copy of Wipeout on Friday when I get paid.

I'd buy more launch games now if I could, but since the line-up is so sparse for the next few months, it might be best to spread things around a bit.

PSP Value Pack - $250
Wipeout Pure & Twisted Metal: Head-On - $45 (thx eb!)
Metal Gear Acid! - $40
San Disk 512MB Pro Duo - $57 (I want to get the 1gb one though but I can't find it anywhere)
Martin Fields Screen Protector - $15

total: $407

I've already paid for a lot of it....PSP, 1GB duo, Twisted Metal, Wipeout, Legends, Ridge Racer, Metal Gear, Tony Hawk...

Still have to pick up Lumines, screen protector and service plan.

Screw the haters, I'm more excited for this launch than I have been for past consoles.

SHIT.

I bought TWO DSes at launch with a few games and I (thanks to some lucky discounts) didn't pay a penny more than $300.

Don't get me wrong, I love me my blowing money on videogames, but doesn't $400+ seem a wee bit excessive for a handheld gaming system launch? If not, then how about $800?

Obviously the value of the money is relative to how much money you have, so that's a pointless argument. But how fast is all of this going to depreciate? Particularly the mem sticks and launch games. If I manage to buy new copies of everything that you got for $800 for just $500 this December, would you feel like you lost out?

Maybe this is just my apathy towards Sony products kicking in, but I just don't feel like buying a PSP day 1 is really worth it, especially if possible hardware updates are on the near horizon.

I live in the now baby! Instant gratification! Oh yeah!

PSP = $250
MGA = $40
Wipeout = $33
Untold Legends = $40 (or is it 50?)
Accessory kit = $10
olimario's mom = FREE

That's about $370, plus tax it'll probably even out between $390 and $400.

SOUNDS LIKE YA NEED A NEW OCCUPATION, JUNIOR

Prolly a PSP + Ridge Racer + Wipeout + possibly Lumines + 1 year warrenty on system

All told I think it'll set me back 520 bucks roughly. Canadian dollars that is.

Not even remotely. I feel like the PSP is a ridiculously good value and the games, being as high quality as they are, just make it all the better. I feel no remorse whatsoever, and, quite the contrary - I'm beyond excited right now for midnight tonight.
