Given it's New Years Day, I'm sure many are drinking water to flush out the alcohol from their systems.

In terms of water drinking on the regular, how much do you drink per day roughly?

I try to hit 100oz. (or 3 liters for the metric folks) of water per day.

I know the long recommended 64oz. is a myth, however, I tend to feel better drinking more water per day, could be placebo I know, and it suppresses my appetite as well. I also like my pee as clear as day.

Good hydration is also great for skin and joint health.

Like 8 mugs of water a day, maybe like 5 to 6 canteens worth on a work day.

I gotta pee a lot during the day.

Pure water? One pint. Take a pint glass to bed every night. Other liquid I consume is in the form of either tea or alcohol.

100oz

I have 4 25oz bottles I fill and drink every day. They are color coded and I drink them in order. Green, Blue, Purple, then Red.

3-4L of water and (mostly non-caffeinated) tea. I'm supposed to drink a shit-ton, though, along with eating extra salt. Whee!

On average, 4-5 bottles of water. I feel guilty, but the last few months I've just bought 24 packs of water, just because they are convenient and an easy way to keep track of how much water I've had in a day. It usually lasts me five or six days.

I think an easy resolution this year will be to just fill up a gallon jug of water and drink that, because damn when I take out the trash and see all the plastic bottles...

I sometimes see hardcore bodybuilder types at the gym carrying a gallon jug of water.

To be honest, none.

I drink a lot of juice, soda and coffee. I'm healthy, the correct weight etc...

That being said. I want to try and drink at least one cup a day in 2015

Whatever is in Pepsi.

I think the OP means pure water, unless some of you guys are joking.

100oz or more. Water is the best thing on this planet, nothing more satisfying then eating something and then taking a huge gulp of water.

Depends on the day but on average I drink about 3-4 liters of water a day. I have a 1 liter bottle that I continually refill.

I switched from drinking 1+ gallon of tea a day to drinking water last year, but I found that with water I don't drink the same amount as if it were tea, but I would say I drink around a gallon a day. Depends on if I drink any vitamin water bottles, too.

He probably does, but isn't specific. I guess I could also say what's in my food as fruit would have water in it. But yeah, I don;t drink water unless I get sick, even after my daily run.

About a gallon or more.

Used to drink like 12+ cans of coke a day, switched to diet, then cut to just soda with meals, finally cut Soda and switched partly to tea or sugar free lemonade.
Now im at 90% water

Probably like 6 glasses a day. That works out to around 50oz.

I just drink it with meals and after working out.

Any benefit to drinking more?

For work I bring every day 1.5 L of carbonated water with me.
At home, depending on temperatures & sports etc., I will drink 0.5 to 1.5 L more.

On a normal day that's (apart from food itself obviously) my total liquid intake to sustain my 65 kg. Add about 1 L of milk per week.

To put it in perspective, soft drinks, fruit juice and smoothies each add only about 1 L per month for me, alcoholic drinks maybe 0.5 L per month I would guess.
Zero coffee; tea only when I'm sick and that's like once per year.

Not nearly enough. Having bad tap water sucks. I also generally prefer having something else with meals (though it doesn't necessarily have to be something sweetened).

In the winter about eight cups a day (64oz). In the summer I don't even know. Has to be at least 120oz. High heat does things to you that only water can quench.

What did the change feel like?
Great, I feel really good so much more than I used to.

Also easing into it I appreciate water alot more now, before i'd rarely drink it and it would mainly just be while running.
I just didn't enjoy drinking water.
Now a cup of ice water is great and unless i am eating something I don't want/crave anything else.

Easily over a gallon a day. If I'm more physically active than usual, I probably get close to two gallons.

Wow some of you guys drink a hell of a lot of water. I ended up downloading a water app that reminds me to drink waterms and it monitors my intake. It has me drinking about 80 ounces a day.

I have a pint glass on my desk at work that I go through probably four times a day, and then a half-litre glass when I go home that I empty 3-4 times in the evening and overnight.

That's about 4.2 litres by my count.

It helps if you just always have a water bottle next to you or with you.
That way you take a sip whenever you feel like it as well as simply drink during work etc. w/o even thinking about it.

Also, carbonated water tastes much better and usually leads to people drinking more water because of it.

Though I must say I can not imagine drinking 1-2 gallons per day. Maybe in a very hot climate and I guess if I were a much taller/bigger guy.
Drinking 1 gallon within 2 hours killed that woman from a radio contest ;P

A lot. I got a Brita water bottle for Christmas and love it.
