I am leaving for Las Vegas tomorrow morning... I am staying until Sunday night...

I am going with about 6 buddies and I am bringing $2,000

I plan on turning that $2,000 into $15,000 and going to Air Jordan's Flight School next year in August.

Or I might pay off the garage we just built...

I have won $3500, $5000 and $2000 my past trips... The $5000 trip winnings was given right back because I have a sickness called "won't stop"... but all other trips the money came home.

You should play the games that involve skill and not chance... roulette and slot machines are a no-no in my opinion...

Have fun and quit while you’re winning...

If you are going to play one of the slot machine always play the one close to where there is places to eat as the chip in them is set to pay out more often to lure people eating at restaurant as they will hear the money been given out more often..

Learn how to count cards before you go :P

You are a smart man Keyser...

I have won two huge slots there between $1500-$3500 both times and it is always a machine I think is near where people will see it... the casino puts a hot machine where a lot of people walk by...

Now that I have been married for 4 years... I always stop when I am ahead... my wife would have never stayed with me if I continued my old habit of giving money back...

Since I have met her, I have come home from ever trip together with a minimum of +$1000. I paid for our honeymoon on Blackjack winnings, a Pueto Rico and Aruba trip were paid off with winnings...

So, I always have luck and now with my lovely wife... come home with money...

Sounds like you should just quit your job, move to Vegas, and become a full time gambler.

I might in 30 years when the wife and I retire... Or I should try it for a year and retire in 2007.

You didn't win $5000 if you gave it back.

Exactly... that is the most I have ever lost on a trip... $5000 of Vegas's money and $5000 of my own...

I was stupid and young... I was maybe 24 years old... about 11 years ago... STUPID!

Take the 2K and put it on the hard 8 at a crap table. You hit, then you have your 15K, plus another 3K. ;)

I have never played CRAPS, it scares me... but if you put money on Hard 8... is it just one roll of the dice? Or does that bet stay up there for a while?

It is too confusing and I never felt like going to those training seminars...

Craps rules. You just have to go to a free class or have a friend show you the ropes.

A hard 8 bet would stay up until the roller craps out or rolls 8 another way (the easy way).

Foolish Boj...

Friday morning even
Friday night up $1000
Saturday morning even
Saturday night up $1000
Sunday morning even

Sunday between noon and 2:30PM... DOWN $4000

I lost the $2000 I had betting $200-$400 hands and took another $2000 out to break even...

My last hand in Black Jack was a $500 bet.

I was dealt 3-3 with the dealer showing 4

I put another $500 up and split the 3's...

I get a 10 on the first 3 and stand on 13

The second 3 is dealt another 3 and I put up another $500 and split it again...

I get another 10 on the second 3 and stand on 13

The thrid 3 draws an 8 and I double-down for another $500 and get a 5 and stand on 16

The dealer pulls a 4 card 17 and I lose $2000

KILL ME NOW! Who wants to buy and X-Box?

You sound like you have a major gambling problem, and I would strongly warn against blowing $2000 in Vegas.

That said.. craps is the best game for odds..

Edit: I just read you lost everything, sorry.. kinda saw that coming though =(

not neccesarily. There are lots of people in Vegas that play a couple grand a night. If you have the money, why not? Bastards at the crap tables made me feel like a chump with my $10 on the passline :(

I'm not too crazy about splitting a 3-3 with that kind of money on the line.

What if you would have just hit once on the 3-3 (giving you 16). Would the dealer had busted on the next two cards? It seems like s/he would have.

If you've got a couple grand you're willing to burn, of course Vegas can be a fun and exciting prospect.. but some people think of gambling as solely a money-making venture rather than pure entertainment, and that's where it can be problematic..

Dont mean to preach, I go to Vegas occasionally and play craps, but my father lost like $20,000 in internet sports betting, so I know how it can spiral out of control.

oh i agree with that. I went pretty much expecting to lose, and factored that into my budget, so when i didn't lose as much as i thought, i came out a WINNER!

You split 3s?

You don't gamble to win, you gamble to play and have fun. Be prepared to lose a set amount. Once you've lost then stop gambling.

Set an amount you're willing to lose.

ex: if you bring 2K, say once you lose 1K and you're done.

Now, when you win money, that number doesn't go up--if you win 2K, that doesn't mean you can lose 3K to get back to the 1K figure you'd be safe at. :lol

Might want to make a trip to a support group, tho.

but when your actually gambling, its hard to remember all that shit. Espcially when the cocktail waitresses are bringing you an endless stream of Coronas.

I had $2000 in my budget to lose... I put money into my checking over the months...

So it was my wasting, splurging money... but I took another $2000 off a credit card... that is my problem... that was not in my budget...

I was just not happy with $1000... that could have paid for X-Box 360.

Do I think I have a problem? YES...

Do I completely give up any sort of gambling? I think YES...

Not just split 3s but split them twice in the same hand. Not sure if that's good quality Blackjack playing there;)

I had that dreaded 3-3 that says to split... AHHHH!

Man am I a low roller. I was in Vegas a couple weeks ago and was happy to leave the city with an extra $100. $1000 would have more than paid for my trip!

I usually play craps aggressively in the beginning... If I lose all my initial cash, I usually just quit right there.. Otherwise I will have some winnings.. then I pocket my initial cash and just play on my winnings. In that case I can be as aggressive or conservative as I want, since I won't be losing any money. As long as I don't dip into my "reserve" I will at least break even.

I usually play willing to lose around $150-$200 per trip.. Most of the time I've either broken even, or won/lost a bit.. I've never really had one big win.. but it was still a fun experience =)
