As the title states, how often do you and your partner get to business? I ask this because I'm curious to see what the norm is for people out there, and how much it affects your relationships. I think the generally accepted 'norm' is that us men are more sexually driven than women and like to have sex more regularly but how true is this really?

Personally I've been becoming frustrated in my own relationship because long story short the missus has been very sexually passive and generally isn't up for it all that much, I'd say in the last 3, 4 months especially. Now we're both pretty young and haven't been together all that long (just under two years) so whilst I know that in the early days you're obviously gonna have more sex it's kinda worrying me that it seems to have dried up real fast.

This is the first long-term relationship I've been in so I don't have much to compare to, I'm just wondering what the situation is like for others out there. I don't doubt that this girl loves me but it's hella frustrating and makes me doubt if I really want to pursue this long term. Like it's not terrible, we're probably still averaging like once, twice a week right now but still, we live alone together with no kids so I'm thinking it should be better than this, you know what I mean?

Just looking to draw some opinions, see what it's like for some of you other guys/girls out there. Is it unreasonable to expect/desire sex regularly? Is a lack of sex a deal-breaker for any of you people out there? Genuinely I don't know what to think.

No I definitely have not asked for those things lol. And we do talk about it, usually it's me pestering and her batting me off :messenger_neutral: But yes, I do have a pretty high sex drive which is why I'm wondering whether I'm just unreasonable, and should not expect so much.

It has varied a lot in the past 12 years my wife and I have been married.

At first, when we moved in, it was everyday, sometimes more than once a day. Good times. About 1 year after she got pregnant and we didn't do it throughout the whole pregnancy and in the 4 months after... I can't say I enjoyed it very much, but hey man, it's my wife right, gotta support her.

Things slowly got back on track and we were doing it like 2 times a month for a long time, sometimes a little more...

Right now we're at once a week, sometimes twice. We're better financially, I think it helped too. It's good enough.

Some do kinda. I had a girlfriend that when we met complained her ex boyfriend would always want sex and pester her for it. At the time I thought "What an asshole he was".

So with her the sex was regular right up until I brought a house and we moved in, then within a year. No sex ever, always "Tommorrow" or "tired" or a "headache" treading water until " can't now, it's my period". I then realised what the "asshole" ex boyfriend went through.

My ex wife was the same, within one year of marriage.

But every other girlfriend was no problem, no matter how long we were seeing each other.

In my experience, sexual frequency fluctuates significantly. Hell, I’ve written about my own experiences with severe dry spells here on GAF (kind of regret that but too late.) Anyway OP there is no right frequency but I don’t think mismatched libidos are uncommon at all. Try having a frank discussion with your wife after having a wank so you’re not horny. If that doesn’t work you guys could do therapy, but my guess is that her sex drive will never match your own, at least not for longer than for short bursts. So, you have to make a choice about how big of a deal that is for you. Most men just resign themselves to their fate, some leave, some use hookers, some have affairs.

All people have different sex drives - I think it’s important to have a partner that matches your own. Having an honest discussion with her is essential. This is one of our basic needs as humans, and if it’s not being met for you I imagine you’ll end up resentful.

Now almost 20 years later it’s still a few time’s a week but it’s difficult because she doesn’t look the way she used to and these kids seem to have a second sense about it.

As soon as we lock the door and get locked in good and proper (while trying to be quiet) they all come creeping and knocking at the door.

Either way if you aren‘t happy with the way your sex life is going now, you really aren’t going to be happy when other complications come around.

Trust me it’s only going to get harder, not easier.

There are so many fucking factors that can short circuit a woman’s sex drive it’s insane.* You can’t figure out that puzzle. There are too many variables to draw a pattern.

* Not all women are the same, but I would say on average is true.

Yeah this is my fear. Problem is there's not much else I would change about her and we're compatible in so many ways, but I just can't help being frustrated by her low sex drive. I mean, she also has insecurities that go along with that, that make her only want to do it in the pitch dark and shit like that. In the first year or so it's like she forced herself out of her comfort zone but slowly as time goes on she's slipping back into it.

Think it's a case of her both having less desire for it in general (it's not new anymore) and knowing that she kind of has me. She knows her value to me so isn't so likely to give me what I want the same way she would before. That's fair enough but you know even a blowjob every now and then wouldn't go amiss but she doesn't like doing that either.

I've been there, it's not worth it. She was really hot, great tits and I stopped getting anything. Even hurt when my friends complimented me on being "Lucky" to have a hot girlfriend.
