I'm thinking of picking one up, but would like to know if I'm going to have to rearrange the crap out of my entertainment area to accommodate it. Unfortunately I couldn't find such specs on DirecTV's website for some ridiculous reason. If anyone out there owns one of these and has a ruler handy, I'd much appreciate the answer. Thanks.

Use the remote in the picture as a reference. the remote is almost exactly 8.5" long. That would make the receiver itself about 15-16" wide. It's probably 13-14" deep and about 4" tall.

I didn't know how long the remote was either. Ah well, at that width I'm going to have to do some rearranging, but I'll manage. I understand this receiver also has an optical audio output, no? Do you know if the newer ones support component outputs yet?

If I remember correctly (did some research on this a few months ago), only the HD Tivo comes with component out.
