If the debates were truely mano y mano then yes. But, the RAM - (Republican Attack Machine) would have had a field day on Dean.
Surely Dean's record cannot be as bad as TEH FLIP FLOPPER'S! So please, what would they dig up on him if you don't mind explaining.

Dean is a superhero.

That being said he's not a stellar debater by any means. He debated Ralph Nader earlier this year on C-SPAN and I wasn't really impressed. He also wasn't that great in the primary debates (but then again, neither was Kerry, really).

I think this year almost any of the serious Democratic primary candidates could beat Bush in a debate. Bush, especially in the last year or so, seems a bit unhinged and does *extremely* poorly when presented with a question that's not prescreened and where he's memorized the answers. I mean, take a look at that Tribal Sovereignty question he was asked a while back. He looked like a total fool, and gave the most jumbled, garbled answer possible.

He was governor of Vermont the most liberal state in the union. Trust me the RAM would have loved to go up against Dean vs. Kerry. They use half truths to trap Kerry. That being said I think Dean was one of the best things to happen to the Democratic party. He was the only politician that had enogh backbone to stand up to jinostic bullshit and ask questions about what was really the deal in Iraq.

Kucinich is greater than all.

The defining moment for Dean, to me, was at a rally of his I saw on C-SPAN right before Wisconsin voted in the primaries(Dean's last stand).

After he spoke he walked through the crowd and one lady there asked Dean, "Why don't you support gay marriage?" And Dean said "It's personal." The lady asked again for a more in-depth answer. Dean said, "I'd rather not get into it, it's personal decision." He continued to walk away and couldn't even give the lady a decent answer. Dean was too personal...that's why his campaign sucked. Dean, in the end, was his own problem...putting himself and his "personal" beliefs before the concerns of the public...in this case equal rights.

I'm happy he didn't make it as the nominee. Kerry at least can bend a little. As he already stated he keeps his religious and political views seperate(as he was confronted about this on abortion). And from what I saw of Kerry...he'll actually give people a decent answer on why he isn't for gay marriage...rather than "it's personal" and walk away.

Kerry >>>> Dean

Kucinich is still the best though. The guy had a plan for everything. Go to his website, it's all still there. Rational reasoning behind everything. Sad, the media ignored him and late-night just wrote him off as a joke. Kucinich should be President.
