So to get to the main question/topic of the thread, I do think that sales are THE main metric for popularity. So let me ask you, sol_bad : why are digital sales numbers not available in the comics industry? You would think that if it is indeed true that digital has surpassed physical, that comics publishers would want to highlight that in public relations statements?
If you don't even care about super heroes I'm not sure why you are even bothering with this thread.
I honestly have no idea why there are no sales numbers for digital sales.
What evidence? All I see is evidence of him being correct.
Even sol_bad admitted sales of Ms. Marvel comics went down. Marvel cancelled the series multiple times. Where's the bullshit?
(Answer: Inside your body, it seems. I hear there are things called "laxatives" that can help with your problem )
I didn't admit anything, comic sales numbers dropping is standard across the entire industry, not only with Ms. Marvel. That is one of the reasons why Marvel likes to constantly release issue 1's, it's a guaranteed sales boost.
Ms. Marvel has not been constantly cancelled either, it was released monthly for 7 years.
Volume 1 of Ms. Marvel lasted 19 issues and was written by G Willow Wilson. First issue was in February 2014, last issue was in October2015.
Volume 2 of Ms. Marvel lasted 38 issues and was written by G Willow Wilson. It was renumbered to issue 1 as the Secret Wars event ended and pretty much every book at Marvel was reset to issue 1. First issue was in November 2015, last issue in February 2019.
Volume 3 of Ms. Marvel lasted 18 issues and was written by Saladin Ahmed. It was reset to issue 1 due to the new writer. First issue was in March 2019, last issue in February 2021.
At this point the book was basically cancelled as Saladin Ahmed couldn't seem to get a handle on the character, I haven't read his run so can't confirm or deny this.
We then got a 5 issue mini series written by Samira Ahmed. First issue was in December 2021, last issue was in April 2022.
Currently she is doing 3 one-shots with Wolverine, Moon Knight and Venom. Apparently this lays the ground work for the next run and is meant to be a jumping on point for new readers.
Between 2014 and 2019 she was on fire. She is a popular character but she needs another writer that understands her again. Again, this is nothing unique to Ms. Marvel, all the popular characters go through bad authors at some point.
Captain America is now black, now a female thor, now a female hulk, black panther now a female, Ironman is now (iron heart) a black chick, Dr strange is ushering in a Mexican chick replacement, bringing in blade, bringing in Muslim chick ms marvel, hawkeye with a female replacement, other iron man replacement is a black dude (armor wars), secret invasion a bunch of chicks (from my understanding), black widow got a whole movie (lol), and shang chi (good movie but point remains) .... Only white dude with real screen time I remember in the eternals was the villain
Nah dog, no agenda
So much to unpack here
Sam Wilson has been Captain America since October 2014 in the comics. Stever Rogers is also Captain America. In real life Chris Evans does not want to play the role forever. Recasting roles is not what Marvel Studios does. I'm sure you'll mention War Machine and Hulk but that was 12+ years ago. Bucky does not make sense as Captain America considering he was a terrorist at one point.
Love and Thunder spoiler.
Jane Foster Thor is dead, she is not replacing him.
Shuri was Black Panther in the comics between February 2009 and January 2010.
America Chavez is not a Doctor Strange replacement but she will be important considering it's the multiverse saga.
Kate Bishop Hawkeye has been around since 2005.
Can't be arsed with the rest of your babbling.
WandaVision = white male
FatWS = 2x white male leads
Loki = white male lead
Hawkeye = white male
No Way Home = 3x male leads
MoM = white male lead
Love and Thunder = white male lead
Ant-Man 3 = white male lead
We went through 11 years and 119 movies with white male leads. Yet you still have a problem with some extra diversity finally?
